Anyone treating hormones to make IC better?

I'm currently waiting for some test results to come back to know for sure. I may be treating with 100% natural biodentical hormones to help with my IC. Does anyone else use hormone therapy in their treatment to help with IC symptoms?

No. This is something that Dr. B will work with you on to help balance your hormones without the use of bio identical hormones. I had low estrogen and high testosterone levels and had very irregular cycles and now have a period every month. It takes time, but your hormones will become balanced throughout treatment.

Have your levels improved at all? I have a period each month, it's just not regular. I also have been diagnosed with PCOS.

Yes, my testosterone levels are now in the normal range. I also have PCOS and am still irregular but was more recently getting my cycle more consistently on day 30, but had surgery in March and messed things up. I still have a very painful period, but with time I am hoping that improves. I know things are shifting in the right direction as I was in peri menopause at age 27, having a period every 3-4 months, which I didn't really mind because of the pain, but not great when trying to conceive.

Hello - just a suggestion.  If your plan is to start treatment, and you aren't testing for something life threatening, I'd hold off.  For myself, testing, waiting, searching, is exhausting.  I've found that it's often a huge waste of energy.  My guess is that alot of the answers that you seek are here.  Although, at times, you'll still have to make decisions on when other treatment is appropriate.  The things is, by then you'll have a better understanding of what this treatment means for you.

I agree. I believe I am going through menopause and my hormones have been all over the place. They have improved greatly witht treatment. This fluctuates though with protocol from time to time but Boaz is trying to balance everything not just my hormones so it is a constant process. I would give them a chance before starting on hormones because even natural could make the IC worse.

I believe that my recent flare is due to my hormones. That's why I wanted to correct them.

Oh yes, our cycles have a lot to do with how we are feeling. But taking hormones aren't going to fix the problem. This treatment gets to the root of the imbalance so your body can function the way it should without the help of synthetic replacements. It takes a lot of patience, but so worth it as you see and feel things shift. It's expensive up front to regain our health but in the long run it will save you so much because you won't have to be on replacement hormones or other drugs later on.
