Bladder - what's new :)

Forums:

I've been doing really really well for the past few weeks.  Started List 2...going well.  Then last night bam...starting having bladder pain and frequency.  Still cramping today. I ate some Rotisserie Chicken cooked from the grocery store.  Boaz ceased my goldenseal a few days ago.  Had some mixed lettuce.  Those are the new things right now going on.  The thing is I fly out tomorrow for Ohio.  Only 2 hour flight but so discouraging when I have been looking forward to this trip for 6 months.  Going to my nephew's wedding.  It's so tough to pinpoint what can cause this stuff.  Hoping it will clear up or ease up by tomorrow.  If anyone has any insight as to which of these things you think might have caused it please feel free to jump in :)  Would stopping the goldenseal maybe cause pain to return???  don't really know.  Keep me in your prayers this weekend please and thanks..

Hi Patty- Unfrtunately, this is how this process goes a lot of the time. SOme peole are very lucky and they start improving and kind of continue from there but many if not most have ups and downs. Hopefully, your downs will be fewer and fewer. Could have been the chicken- maybe it was brushed with some oil you can't have or spices, couldbe the protocol change or could be the stress of planning to travel. Unfortunately for me, every trip I've tried to take in the past 3 years has been marred by bad symptoms.

Remember much of this is trial and error (with a lot of knowledge and experience behind it)and also your body is shifting constantly so what you  needed before might chnage and your body responds with more symptoms. Hope you enjoy the wedding no matter what and get back on a good track soon!

Sorry Patty! Deir is right there are a lot of ups and downs. And as we move along, we challenge our bodies in different ways: more activity, different herbs that we need, new foods. So it will not be static. Hopefully the further healed you get, the more you get back on track more quickly. Who knows, maybe your trip will be FINE. I have had both experiences. Sometimes travel is fine, and sometimes I have sx. It could go either way. All the best!! (If it was the food, the sx should pass quickly!)

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

Patty, so sorry you're having trouble! I really think it could be the rotisserie chicken from the store. There have been forum posts about this in the past, and it's just not a good idea to eat that stuff. A lot of patients have had big issues with it. I'd stay away from it if I were you. I know it's so tempting to be drawn toward convenience, but it can cause trouble especially early on. Matia has also written blog posts on prepared chicken that may seem safe, but it is not. I hope this flare passes soon for you and that you enjoy your nephew's wedding.

thanks everyone.  I will definitely be staying away from the Chicken in the future.  Boaz said to try going back on the goldenseal for now and see if it passes.  This disease is such a pain :) literally.

It could be a combination, the rotisserie chicken is not a good idea, I have been tempted by it many times though never tried it. Also I had to go back on goldenseal after coming off it as my symptoms increased so could be that. It is sometimes hard to figure out what causes a flare especially when there are so many factors involved. I am currently on vacation visiting my mum in England and the night I arrived had a bad flare that lasted days, I had just come off goldenseal and started oil of oregano so thought it was this Dr M said to stop the ooo and go back on goldenseal but he email sounded like she was reluctant to do that so I did not change anything. Finally I realized that I had been drinking tea on the flight and after I got here made with tap water, so now I think that was the cause of the flare. So hard to figure out sometimes, when I am at home eating the same foods and doing the same things I can usually tell what caused it.

Girls, I had a wonderful time at the wedding.  Absolutely NO pain (so thankful).  I got the last seat on the airplane right next to the bathrooms...worked really well.  I laughed to myself when the lady at the airport security said to me "A doctor's note for WATER"!!!!! I made a resounding "YES"!!!!!  They held me up for a few minutes after they studied the note over for about 6 times and let me go :)  Anyway, so thankful for you all, The Brizman's and thankful I had this special time with my wonderful family. Oh btw my poor nephew that was the groom was on the dance floor and somehow ended up laying down and people pounced on him so he spent his wedding night in the ER with a broken rib.  I told him he would have a great story to tell his grandchildren :)  poor thing.

Aww that's great news Patty (minus your nephew's broken rib - hope he has a speedy recovery!) It's refreshing to read when people are doing better and having good days. Brings people like me hope :)
