sf722- die off?

Well, I have had almost no die off throughout this 3 plus year process. While I know I have been lucky in that, it has also been confusing since many peole sseem to go through die off and then improve. I just started 3 drops of Sf722 this am and I have stomach pain, bloating and burning diarrhea and I just took a nap which is VERY RARE for me- I always have a lot of energy. Dr B said to reduce it to 1 drop next dose but that if it is doing this to me then it means I need it. I have an appointment coming up and I am interested to hear what she says but I was wondering what other people thought.

She had said in the beginning that she didn't think I had yeast issues but if I am having this kind of reaction- it would seem like I do. Part of me is like "Good- bring it on! " Maybe I will see some more progress but part of me is also like "Ugh- I feel awful- what is up?" And how long will this go on? I am feeling like I couldn't really go out like this. Also- what does it mean that I am so sensitive to 3 tiny drops? Makes me feel scared at what that could mean?

Hi friend! I get the same burning stomach and large amounts of diarrhea, but not just with SF. I never know if it is just an awful flare of my IBS? I was on SF last week when had another awful flare, bug, die-off??? And we removed the SF and was feeling a little better the next day, so possibly was the SF. Don't worry I am only taking drops of it too and get reactions. I vote for die-off, get things moving out, girl! Hopefully it doesn't last too long and will be feeling better in no time! Keep us posted, I want to know if it was the SF. Hang in there!

I ve just started back on sf722 as well and like you have had hardly any die off in the three years I ve been treating.

I vote with Christina ! I always think if weird things happen with a new  herb or supplement then I see it as a good sign.

Deir I have been on SF for about 2 weeks & holy die off... Horrible bloating, head heaviness ear hurts sore throat. I started on a full cap... Reduced to 1/2 cap now settled on 4 drops but added in 3 drops of Ooo. & she always I was not yeast either? Not sure what to think but it did lower my pain when I got used to it. It is definitely a push though cause I felt pretty horrible on it in the beginning.

Go Deir!

I always think it is funny when Dr. Brizman says someone does not have much yeast. I mean, all of us have some kind of battle of microbes in the gut involveing yeast and microbes. Based on her clinical observations, I guess people display greater or lesser candida infection.  Lower levels of lactobacilli (which most all with IC have) means there is yeast overgrowth. The lower levels cause the yeast, and the yeast overgrowth impedes the growth of lactobacilli and encourages growth of gram negative pathogens like e coli.

I do think some systemic fungal candida infections have its roots in really strongly, in some of us, and less so in others. But 70% of Americans have some degree of systemic fungal candida. As we know, if one has ever taken 1 antibiotic pill, the body has to manage some extra fungal candida. Some bodies manage it better than others but I think we all have it to some degree.

Happy die off!!

"Funny" would not be the way I see it!

When I went to see her she said, "I am not sure why your dr thought you had an issue with yeast."

I have never had symptoms of yeast overgrowth (only the risk factors) and at this point I have not even been on any Probiotics (except a week recently) for over a year. The battle of the microbes does not always mean there is fungal Candida overgrowth.

I am curious to talk with her on Thursday.

Sorry to hear Amy! I am glad it seems to be helping your pain though! That is fantastic. I am on 1 drop now! SO fatigued, muscles are exhausted. SLightly nauseated. This is all new to me

Hi Deir!
How did your appointment go with Dr. Brizman? Are your bladder symtpoms improving with the die off?

Also, do you still have the bloated tummy? I seem to remember in one of my many rants about mine, that you also sometimes have a bloated tummy? Is the SF helping with that at all? Thanks for any thoughts!

Hi- She explained what she thought was going on and it is of course extremely complicated and multi-layered. Yeast is not a predominate issue with me or else I would have had other signs of it but of course kind of like what you said- these organisms all work together or in opposition at varying degrees. So maybe the SF 722 is getting at a deeper layer that could be hindering my healing. I hope. Die off went mostly all away when I lowered the sf but today and yesterday, my bladder is no good.  Ugh. Frustrating.

I only get bloating when my IC is really bad so like today I could pass for 4 mos pg but it isn't a symptom that occurs to me to keep track of. It is always related to how bad the bladder is.

Oh, I HOPE it will be getting you to a deeper level. I had a few icky days on SF but it passed. Try to stick with it. I think you will be ok.  She did tell me I could take it out of one dose if it got bad bladder wise but she wanted me to keep going with it. I hope you are drinking lots of water and taking the oil with your food! That helped me I think....

Deir I took the sf out for 1 dose for 2-3 days until my body was happier with it & that helped a lot. Also started making sure I had a full belly before taking it & drank a ton of water after. I have been on it close to 3 weeks & it did level my pain to a degree & helped a ton with constipation but I am EXHAUSTED.  So am hopeful it is working on deeper things.

When I increased my SF722 dose for my ears, it was good for my ears, but I definitely had increased die off elsewhere! Increased bladder symptoms, nausea, sore throat, feeling exhausted, etc. After a few days of that, my bladder pain decreased again and no more nausea. I think it's important to listen to your gut when it comes to die off... I had an instinct feeling like even though all of these painful and unpleasant things were happening, I still needed to keep doing it. And other times with die off, I've had an instinct feeling of "ok, enough is enough. Time to bail." I think the fact that you are having these die off symptoms is a great thing! Congratulations on progress!
