Hi all,

I just wondered of anyone had had their mercury fillings out as part of treatment? I rearly feel like my teeth are affecting my bladder. I'm still waiting to travel for my first appointment but just wondered if anyone else had received advice on this?

Many thanks

Katie

Hi Katie,  I have been in treatment for approx 18mths and have been advised not to have any fillings out.  I too feel my teeth have had a huge negative impact on my IC recovery along with my thyroid condition. With this treatment we need to take things slowly.

Hi Katie, I had my mercury fillings out during treatment- probably a year in, I asked Matia first and she thought I would be OK and I was fine. I asked them to use a dental dam to ensure none of the filling went down my throat and had them replaced with the white filliings and I didn't have a reaction at all. I would ask Dr Brizman in your appointment as everyone is different. C

My mouth is full of mercury fillings, I think I have 18. Anyway, I have thought about having them removed but I haven't. Matia didn't think I should. I was in treatment for almost 4 years and I got better even with a mouth full of fillings.

I had mine out before treatment and actually wished I had left them alone. I ended up having my first root canal because one of the teeth the fillings came out gave me trouble. Probably would not do it over again.
