Question for Althea

Althea, I saw that you had posted a response to Dr. M's blog about the benefits of Chinese medicine, and you mentioned someone who had gone to a world-renowned pelvic floor therapist and got major help and relief. Do you know who the therapist was? Or is it possible to get my contact information to the patient you were talking about? I don't mind posting it on the forum. I've been in very high pain for the last few months and when I had an exam done by my urologist, he said the highest pain is coming from the vaginal and pelvic floor area. Bladder hurts also, but the worst is pelvic floor.

I also discovered through an extensive blood panel that I have very low iron and vitamin D, so we are working on getting those things into my system without making the pain worse. I am going to try IV iron infusions and see if that works. I am trying an iron supplement right now that is helping with my energy, but it also causes me pain. I think everything will settle down over time, but I want to look at every possible solution. I also think I need more testing to see what is going on in my gut.

Dear Rachel,

After hanging out in this site for five years, it seems that alot of the members are very into testing and treatment that I've never known to be Matias norm.  I guess I'm wondeing if all of this is something that she's advocating or just offering support for the choices that you yourself feel are necessary.  Please believe that I have often strayed from protocol - often with her knowledge.  Often times I just ended up hanging myself with the rope that I insisted on trying out.  It's just that I'm sensing mass need to find the answer QUICKLY - like alot of people are feeding off each other for this?  I guess that I'm a nosey busy body that has found that I've gotten alot farther by trusting in the process than creating my own process.......

Dr. M knows about everything I'm doing. She is in agreement that I need iron supplementation and is hoping the infusions are good for me. The supplement she recommended for me is causing me more pain, and I am already in excruciating pain for which I am taking vicodin on a regular basis. I have been through a lot of painful times in treatment, but this has been absolutely unbearable.

I believe in the treatment, but this over the top pain is making me have to explore what else is going on. I am seeing another GI doctor to see if I need more tests done. I wish I didn't have to do any of this, but I do.

Thanks, Denise. I appreciate your response and your prayers. I know you wrote what you did in kindness, but I wanted to clarify. It's all good.
