Hi All

Since last summer when my daughter had a bad stomach flu, her digestion has not been right. I am very excited to be working with Boaz to get her back in balance so she has the best chance for a healthy adulthood. Will keep you all posted. So far she does not want to take her herbs but she does not have a complicated protocol so fingers crossed.

Mimi, if you haven't already met him, you will love Boaz. I hope her treatment is short and sweet! Happy healing to you both.

Hi Mimi!
You are very fortunate to have your daughter working towards gut rebalancing so early in her young little life.  I have found myself terribly worried about my daughters future health due to some previous illnesses where heavy antibiotic use was the treatment...my daughter is much older than your little one.  The knowledge we gain in treatment is powerful, and like myself, you want to share your knowledge to help others, which you do so graciously on this site.  Please keep us updated on how she is progressing.

Thanks Heather and Katy!!!

Heather, your daughter can treat with Boaz without going to Santa Monica. We had our first visit on the phone and it went very well. No need to travel there. If I were you I would see if you can get your daughter in for treatment. The younger they are the less complicated. Ruby does not really even have to change her diet (does not have to limit fruit, etc....) she just has to avoid sugar and peaunut butter but can have the occasional treat in social situations so I dont think treatment is going to be that hard for her. I had to buy a bunch of Japanese erasers LOL as incentive for her to take her medicine 2x per day. So far that is working!!

I recently spoke with Dr. Matia about getting my daughter in treatment.  She will be 20 next month and in college in the Southeast part of the country and I live in the Western region. If we do need to make an appt I was hoping to talk her into going during the long Christmas break to see Dr. Boaz.  I don't want to force it too much bc being in college and away from home has its own challenges not to mention possibly restricting her diet, although she eats fairly healthy.  This  past Summer I really tried to teach her a lot about food in general.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that shell be open to the idea.  I've already been planting the seeds:)))
Very glad to hear you found a method to coax your daughter to take the herbs.  In time they won't even bother her as she develops a familiar taste for them, not to mention how happy her little digestive tract will be:)
i will definitely call the office to get more information.

My 21 year old daughter is in college and she has been working with Matia for about 6 months.  She has seen amazing improvements in her acne (her skin looks almost clear), her bladder (she used to have pain from time to time), and her mentsrual cramps (they are much more manageable, and eventually will be gone).  Her mood is better and she has much more energy also.  She is eating as healthy as she can, but it is tough with her school schedule to get the kind of variety she normally would.  She tends to do really simple meals that are quick.

Lisa Ann,
thank you for sharing about your college-age daughter.  I am hoping mine takes the leap...she needs exactly what it sounds as if your daughter has received from treatment.  Knowing that someone else with a daugther in college can successfully achieve results with all the potential road blocks is very encouraging!...and I'm sure with the benefits your daughter has received, any inconvenience has made it well worth it!!!
Mimi,
How's Ruby doing?

HI! I was wondering if I would need to travel to LA inorder for Boaz to treat my 3 yr old?

Hi Deir!
You do NOT need to go to LA unless your child has IC symptoms. Otherwise they can treat remotely. Boaz is great. Really a master class in Chinese Medicine and I really feel like I am on the right track. Within the FIRST WEEK of treatment, my Ruby stopped having night terrors. Kids often night wake or have night terrors because all kids produce excess cortisol if their bedtime is too late and they become overtired. The difference with my Ruby is that she already has what they call in Chinese Medicine, "excess heat" so when she gets extra cortisol in her system, her "cup runneth over" so to speak. Her body just doesn't process the cortisol well and it disrupts her sleep. SHE HAS BEEN A DREAM, literally, since we started. Still working on the "heartburn" issues she was having, but her BMs are getting better and she is not asking for as much fruit. She also wants to eat every hour and we are working on that. Probably some blood sugar disregulation, which I had too, which they call something else in Chinese Medicine but hopefully we will iron it out.
Let me know if you decide to treat your daughter and we can compare notes!!

Please keep us updated. I have been talking to my Husband about him seeing Boaz... He has allergy, and bloating issues.... But, he is hard to convince.
It's good to hear that your daughter has improvements already!

OK all. So kids are amazing. Ruby has been in treatment for one month (maybe a bit less as I had to wait for the herbs to come in the mail.) She takes her herbs like a champ. (As Ally says :) She has STOPPED asking for fruit after dinner. She has stopped asking for bananas at breakfast. Her night terrors are GONE. Her sleepwalking is GONE. Her heartburn is way less. Her poops have improved. In the last 5 days she has not even mentioned heartburn so I know she is having fewer episodes. We are still working on clearing that and she still wants to eat every hour or two so we still need to address that. I suspect blood sugar issues. Minor I am sure. I am very encouraged so far.

HI All
Update is that Ruby has not had the digestive stuff for many months. I still need to get a 3rd dose into her each day which is hard since she is in school. She still has the ocassional night terror but they are much reduced. She sleeps in later in the morning. She used to get up so early. She is very carefull on her own about avoiding sugar, although I do remind her sometimes that it is not best for her. Plan to stay with Boaz until her night terrors are gone!

did ruby have to take her meds in the capsule or out of the capsule in water?

I give her probios and herbs in unsweetened apple sauce. Boaz uses plain yogurt for his girls. I put a little apple sauce in the bottome of the spoon. I lay out the herbs on top of the apple sauce, then I add more applesauce on top. I always talk about something else that she wants to talk about, and not about giving her the medicine. I have found ALL KINDS of strategies to get her to take the meds. She will NOT take cold herbs, that is just too crazy, too many herbs. That totally backfired on me. But she will take her regular dose. Ally may have some ideas too.
