This morning I found an article about a man living in my area who has MS. I found his story and what he does to help himself and others with chronic illness inspiring. Here is the link , http://www.annarbor.com/news/living-with-multiple-sclerosis-ypsilanti-ma... I agree with him that its most important to stay in the present moment!

Wow, cool

I am just getting into the idea of positive focus... A patient of Matia's recommended that I read "Anti Cancer"  You can look it up on Amazon... It is basically about a doctor who got brain cancer and postulates that cancer can be healed through positive thinking (don't quote me, I am just remembering the reviews)  I ordered it and plan to read it.  Also, a friend of mine at work who is deeply into yoga suggested I read the works of Louise Hay.  She apparently suffered from cancer and wrote books on this very subject.  I would not be surprised if many of us ICers were brought up in less than positive households... (Not speaking for everyone) That has SERIOUS implications for immune health!  We need to retrain our minds...

Power of positive focus

Thanks for the suggeston. I have read Louise Hay books, started in 1991 actually. I believe anger is the root emotional cause of IC. Being pissed off at something or someone and holding it in. At least this is what seems to be coming up for me lately.

I think it is inconsequential

I think it is inconsequential to name root causes... I could go mad, however, there is well documented studies that show unstable childhoods, anger, abuse, etc severely impair the immune system and its development.  I believe this wholeheartedly.  I will try and find those studies... i am reading the Dalai Lama too.  This has been a blessing for me because I was a much angrier person before I got IC.
