It is more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has. -Hippocrates

Chocolate Cake

I am always experimenting with baking and because I cannot stand following recipes,
I often dont get a good result. Although sometimes it is outstanding!

Yesterday, I made a decadent chocolate cake that I need to try and remember-so
here it goes:

3 cups flour
1 cup oil
1 package sunspire grain sweetened chocolate chips
1 jar wax orchard's fudge sauce
3 eggs
some milk add to create cake batter consistency
1 tsp baking powder

Stir well and bake at 350 until done

I didnt add icing, but, the wax orchards is a great icing by itself or mixed in with
cream cheese.

Last Night's Support Group Meeting ...and More

As usual, the support group meeting was filled with great questions and great
conversation. We spoke about many different topics and people had a chance
to "connect", which, is always wonderful.

I want to add some thoughts with regard to things that have come up lately.

During these meetings and via private emails, many times people ask me
about an enormous amount of other kinds of health protocols and programs.

To the person who is newly discovering health, all of this is fascinating and
finding new discoveries are attractive in that it may seem that one can expedite
a difficult process by including some other therapy in with what we are doing.

A Healthy Mouth

I am going to post this based on my thoughts and experience not on any factual
information. However, I do want to share my thoughts because I think they are interesting.

Last week someone asked me what I thought about the relationship between getting
in better balance and the health of the teeth and gums. And, if I thought that intervention
was a good idea. I shared some of the things with her that I am about to say here.

But, I would love to do a study on this because it is something that I have though a lot
about over the years and am just not sure of.

How much does diet and and supplementation influence the mouth?

Over the last week when I have been contemplating this, I cam up with several
examples:

Support Group Meeting

I can't believe another month went by so fast! The support Group meeting this month will be next Friday the 12th at 4 pm Pacific.

I look forward to talking to all of you!

New Yoghurt Shop

I dont know how many of these are around. But, for those of you who are local, this is good to know!

But, be careful of some yoghurt places that are "sugar free" mostly that means splenda, and sometimes they offer some with splenda some with agave, you have to ask!

Black Bean Brownies

One of my patients sent this in and wanted to share:) I recommend subbing in agave or maple syrup in place of the sugar. Otherwise they sound really tasty. If you want, you can even use raw cocoa powder instead of regular. Just make sure it is unsweetened.

BLACK BEAN BROWNIES

I often serve these with homemade ice cream, so delicious!

Chocolate Is So Tasty!

And for those of you who are able to eat chocolate and treats, I found this book. I have not read it, so I cannot guarantee there are not ingredients that I don't advise, but, it looks good and RAW chocolate is even better than not.

You might want to check it out and see what you think.

The Future OF ICAMA

This is going to be a really great year for ICAMA. I have exhaustingly discussed my
numerous goals for it and I am going to do my best to make them happen this year.

I think the energy I am putting out, as does happen in life, is coming back to me
100 fold. Suddenly help is coming from everywhere.

A new manual will be being posted on FAQ and helpful hints early in treatment, thanks
to one of my patients, who will remain anonymous unless she tells me it is ok to disclose
her identity. That will be here soon.

Another of my patients and her family are starting a fundraising project that they call

Red Meat and ICAMA Treatment of IC

I have received many questions lately regarding red meat. So, here is the scoop:

I developed the ICAMA diet plan over the years that I have been developing the treatment of this condition. This diet has proven to be a very useful tool in stabilizing the countless variables that could occur in treatment otherwise.
It is very easy for a patient's symptoms to be completely out of control as this very difficult treatment progresses. Using the diet helps to control those factors and allow supplements to work that would not be able to in the absence of such a diet. Even the healthiest of nutrients can encourage inflammation-yes, nutrients.

To Cook Or Not Cook

Lately the issue of veggies has been coming up for a lot of people in treatment lately so, I thought I would post on the subject.

In Chinese medicine, texts suggest that vegetables be eaten cooked for those with digestive weakness, or, AKA, Spleen Qi deficiency. And, in some cases, I also make that recommendation, where it seems applicable. In those cases, it is more likely that the person has so much pain and bloating in their abdomen that eating raw veggies would create more gasses and therefor create more pain and pressure on the bladder.
