Husband may have Lyme (just got bitten and has round rash)

Forums:

We think my husband may have Lyme. He was bitten by something a week ago, and a few days ago developed a round, red, bumpy, slightly itchy rash around the bite. He is at the doctor's office right now getting it checked out. I know the first plan of attack is usually to hit it with antibiotics and my husband says he's okay with that. He's a fairly healthy guy and he takes probiotics on a regular basis. I just wondered if any of you had any advice or experience with Lyme and alternative treatments. Thanks.

Dental ?s - Implants, Dentures and Mercury

Forums:

I finally went and saw a dentist! Big triumph after getting IC 3 years ago - where it all started with a dental nightmare. He is a biological dentist and totally gets it.

Anyway I need implants or a small denture - I am missing 3 teeth. Matia and I have discussed and she said I am not strong enough yet...she said both were tricky. The implant because it's such a "big deal" and the denture because of the toxic cement needed to hold it in place day in and day out.

I'd love to hear any stories of implants or denture experiences.

Pompholyx eczema vs athletes foot, treatment wise does it matter?

Forums:

Just wondering others thoughts on differential diagnosis and treatment approach. I know skin is usually the last to really improve during treatment, but the constant flare of the itching blisters and crusty sometimes oozing ulcers is really starting to wear me thin. I was doing some searching as was looking into my new dry scaly sometimes scabbing patches on my scalp. While doing this search it brought up several types of eczema one involving the palms and soles of your feet. I get a few itchy spots on my hands, but mostly affected on my feet and toes and now scalp.

Tendons and joints- feeling like wood

Forums:

Hi Everyone! I have had tendon and joint pain for years, usually flares in one area at a time, but recently every joint seems to be affected with tendinitis and tenosynovitis. I am having a lot of pain and feeling extremely stiff. Everything is catching and creaking and feel like becoming petrified wood. Anyone else have this whole body inflammed stiff sore petrified wood feeling? Going to ask if I can try some different therapeutic modalities to help with managing the inflammation.

Hairspray/hair products, helping SIL?

Forums:

Hello everyone! My little sister-in-law has asked me help her get ready from prom and a little afraid of how my body will react to the products. Does anyone know of safer hairsprays? Is there such a thing? LOL!! Do you think wearing a mask will be enough to save me from a huge flare? I don't want to let her down and kind of excited to help her get ready for the fun event. Any suggestions?

Forums:

Hello everyone

I am now 35 weeks pregnant, and my bladder is pretty bad last week.

my baby is very big, and is not lying good, so a c section will happen in a few weeks.

I there anyone who has had a c section with ic, and a bad bladder in the weeks before?

is it much worse after wards, and how was it with the catherer?

I'm very scared.

Hormones ramping up vs die-off?

Forums:

I don't know whether I am having die-off or are my hormones ramping up causing symptoms to go crazy? Anyone experience increase in their headaches, itchiness and fatigue around ovulation? I feel like it is becoming a pattern. I get all excited that maybe it is really die-off, but am starting to wonder if it is more related to my hormonal imbalances increasing my symptoms. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Ears and sensitivity to cold ?

Forums:

Does anyone else find that they have extreme ear sensitivity especially when exposed to cold temperatures? I have had issues with my ears most of my life but after head trauma at the age of 13 these earn issues intensified any cold temps or wind and will suffer from ear aches and pounding headaches at least for the next day or two. Also, same issue with change in pressure diving in water or flying in a plane. Just wondering if my ears tend to be more sensitive because of my trauma or do others with IC also have this issue?
