The Endless Water Issue

Just like everyone, I am trying to make the best decisions for myself and my family and trying to keep all of you educated as to the water issues for both health and for chronic health problems, like IC. I think the water issue is wrapped up in both. Here is a sad, but fascinating article:

At home I have a good water filter but I drink a lot of water at work and it's usually coming from a plastic container. Glass would be better but is hard to carry around. Is there any plastic container that is safe or should we try to avoid it?

They do have plastics that are safe. Whole foods has them for babies, and I believe then also for kids and adults. Born Free is the baby manufacturer--go to Whole foods and ask, I know they have them!

I was wondering if most of you filter your water at home and if so, do you filter in your kitchen only or your whole house? I only have a filter on my shower and use bottle spring water for drinking and cooking. I order the 5 gallons from henckly springs and have the water stand in my kitchen. Plastic I know...! Henckly Springs do offer glass bottles but they are very heavy to carry and double the price.
If any of you have whole house filters or even just kitchen filters which one/s do you recommend? Matia once told me that reverse osmosis filters can make the body too acidic and I sould stick to spring water for drinking purposes. Having done some research on the net for filtering water at home, the best I could find was reverse osmosis. Any suggestions or ideas would be most welcome.
Thanks.
