Post from an Old Patient

As everyone knows, I dont go into the chat forum as to leave a place that is "sacred" for people to be able to speak freely-even if they want to talk about me! So, I don't go in. Yesterday, an old patient saw a question and wanted to give an answer and was having problems logging in. So, she asked me to post her answer.

The question was about turkey. This is what she said:):

I'm not sure if I am logged into you icama.org website to post comments or not but one of the people - CAMILLE - posted a question about certain turkeys that I can answer.   I found out at Thanksgiving that I couldn't eat the butterball turkey.   After doing some research on it  (on line and calling the company) I found out that certain turkeys have preservatives added to them - which are basically degreasers to make the turkey less greasy.   These were a major flare to me.    Turkey's that don't have those preservatives are fine.

I think the patient is wondering what the difference is- thinking she can only eat "expensive" brands.  But butterball has a turkey that is fresh and is preservative free and they have others that are frozen and they have preservatives in it - something to watch out for - especially with Thanksgiving coming.  Maybe you could post this as I don't think I have a log in to post.
