For anyone who has read my dissertation, they know how much I subscribe the the micro world within us effecting our entire physiology. The forefather's of Chinese medicine each had their own schools of thought and took their place in the history of Chinese medicine. I am not looking for a place in the books and I am certainly not comparing myself to any of those great masters, but, I do have my niche and the cross between  the human microbiome and Chinese medicine is it.

Hello all, I am a patient of Matia’s now for the past 5 years (with some breaks due to pregnancies) and I always said to myself when I get better I will write about my success. When I was really going through some rough patches I would be on the blog all the time looking for patients who had words of encouragement. I am hoping to give that to you with this letter.

For those of you who have read my dissertation you know that pain relievers and NSAIDs are one substance correlated with the destruction of the GUT ultimately leading to the cascade of events that lead to chronic illness.

Last year I did a post asking what people were doing prior to becoming unwell and what getting better allowed them to do that they couldn't do when they were unwell. I recieved many touching posts directly on my blog and several private ones. Not everyone wants to share themselves openly on line, but, for those who do, we are working on creating a page featuring links to your own personal site showing whatever it is you are doing.

I have no idea what happened this am when I did a post and somehow when I clicked it merged the current question with a previous answer. Because I did not understand what happened, I did not delete because I did not want to permanantly delete th old info either so, here, I will try again: Someone asked me to post on certain foods that are "no no"s to try and understand why and for how long. So here it goes.

Often I hear, " I have a hormone problem, because I am always worse at certain times of my cycle", or, "my progesterone level or my estrogen or testosterone level is too low, or too high". Well let's back up. If you have a problem-how should we address it? It is not always straight forward. Looking at the cause underneath the problem is the only way to clear a problem-otherwise you are simply covering it up.
