This Week's End note is coming late, I am sorry! I think the idea that I would like to comminicate this week is this: The journey towards wellness sometimes is limited by one's own open mindedness. We were speaking with visiotrs from out of the country the other night and one of the people has had a chronic pain problem for several years now. She has seen every doctor imaginable where she lives--both Western and alternative with no success. My husband and I were speaking to her and her husband about the concepts of internal imbalances creating "external" pain syndromes.

How many times do you open up a container or pick up a product and it stinks? I think when you are not healthy you may not even notice those things, but, when you are more in tune you may be more primed to be sensitive to those awful smells. It happens alot with kids toys believe it or not and lots of other products that make it into your house. Toxic outgassing exists in many things you dont think about, thinkgs that might not even fail the nose dector, like paints, hardwood floors, and other material around your home, car, clothing, and work.

This questions comes up sometimes in treatment--"should I get this vaccine?" "should I get the vaccine for my daughter?" http://www.naturalnews.com/023792.html

As many of you know, I have said repeatedly that getting IC can be an invitation to changing the course of the rest of your life and actually preventing more horrible diseases like cancer in addition to making your bod healthier and well balanced. It is hard to see something like that when you are really sick and struggling. When my mother had cancer and was dying, I often thought to myself, cancer must be linked with candida and other microbiological imbalances.

I just read this article on happiness and it got me thinking. Happiness is such a subjective state of mind. In this article in underscores the idea that achievements and belongings do not equal happiness.

There are so many feelings that come up around this subject that have much more to do sensations coming from your nerve supply. Of course when there is an abundance of inflammation there will be a resistance to having sex. How could a person be interested in exciting an area that is already in so much pain? This is really hard on both partners--the one who is sick and his or her partner suffers as well.

In the "old days" we had to keep our families safe by guarding our property and protecting against invasion by  intruders--O.K. maybe not completely unheard of in today's day in age either, BUT- the intruders comes in invisible ways these days--ways that did not exist before!  So, the only way we can truly protect our families is by reading and staying as informed as possible. Chlorine in drinking water is one problematic area of concern for me when it comes to IC. But, dipping in a pool with chlorine----one should really try to avoid that. In today's world there are many options to the standard chrlorinated pool. Research correlates an increase in bladder and colon cancer with even moderate levels of chlorine exposure. The following article is on this subject because chlorine level in this particular pool were too high. But, imagine the extreme of what happened in this article and then imagine the same chemical toned down to an "acceptable" amount.

Reflecting upon the events of this week, I think the message I want to go into the weekend with is this: Chronic disease and the connectivity between issues.

As you all know and as we have discussed on this site, depression and anxiety are two huge factors with IC and other chronic illness. The process of rebalancing your internal health can definitely impact your mind in a positive way. I use various supplements to do this, one of which is omega fatty acids where appropriate> Here is a great article on a similar aspect of the same problem:
