feel worse in the afternoon

I just got off the phone with Matia.  All along, I have been feeling best in the morning (sometimes pain free for a few hours) and worse at about 3-4pm in the afternoon.  I asked her why this happens?  I am usually at work and tired and hungry.  I get in the car and eat my large bag of veggies I pack every day (filled with 3 stalks celery, 1/2 of a pepper, cabbage, cucumber, and 10 leafs of romaine lettuce, and some spinich if I have it). I also drink some water and maybe eat some rice cakes.  This seems to help me feel better but my bladder seems to be tender.  She said there are circadean rhythms and 3-5pm is the bladder hour.  Also 5-7pm seems to bother some people too.  I'm reading a lot of peoples posts about flares and I wonder what time of day everyone is having the most trouble?  Maybe it is just the bladder hour....when the meridian goes thru its cleansing or whatever the Chinese theory is.  I know the meridians cycle every 24 hours.  Anyway....I was thinking for some of you that think you are flaring at that time of day and certain foods may be doing it,.. maybe it is not the food but the time when we are most sensitive.  It could also be most people are tired and most vulnerable at that time and most hungry.
Anyone else have any ideas about this?  Anyone else have trouble later in the day?  Maybe we could head it off with a high protein snack, some veggies, and spring water at 3p.  I would love to hear some ideas.

I am usually great in the morning, I can go a few hours some days without going, but for me, once 2pm hits, I have to go, go, and go again.  I am usaully tired at this time as well. So, I always lay down for a nap when I put my kids down and then, bam! I need to get up every 15-20 to pee.  It ends about 4pm for me, and then starts again sometimes when go to bed, but only until I fall alseep.  I have noticed this happens in the afternoon no matter what I eat.

That sucks, I know my bladder gets really bad when yeast are dieing off, like with supplement increases.  I also not matter what I eat get flares at certain times of day, and stress and anxiety always bring on a flare for me.  When I do not get at least 6 hours straight sleep, I flare as soon as I wake up in the morning.  I hope the reason you are always flaring is because the yeast and bad guys are always dieing!

In the last meeting, Matia said it was much more common for a person's symptoms to be worse at night.  I know my symptoms get worse as the day progresses. By this time next year, you should feel a lot better :o)

afternoons are usually worse for me too. mornings are my best time - have always been, even before treatment. my issue is vv rather than bladder, so i've always thought it had to do with the fact that i sit all day for work. so as the hours go by of sitting on inflamed tissues and nerves, they understandably feel worse. my PT says when you sit for a long time, your nerves/tissues are not getting blood to them (i.e. they get ischemic) so they get more irritated. that's why exercise tends to help. but i guess it also has to do with the toxic lymph being stagnated as well. that being said, i do notice that it is still not as good in the afternoons on the weekends as well (when i am not sitting all day) - so there is probably something to the whole circadian rythm/meridian cycle thing as well. now, i have never necessarily noticed a one-to-one relationship between hunger and pain. are you saying that eating immediately helps your symptoms? interesting...

I do think sitting too much can make it feel worse down there, but sometimes I sit because if I stand I get the urge to go more and I try to hold it as long as possible.  It hurts to pee so the less I pee the better.  Don't worry, I still pee plenty...usually every 1-2 hours but sometimes I can go 3-4 hours if I am feeling better.  I also have been noting that I seem to do well the first half of my monthly cycle and seem to get worse the second half.  Yoga almost always helps.  Thanks to everyone for all your great comments.
