Diet Lists

So just wondering, since I'm starting the diet on my own before I can see Dr. B, how long did everyone stay on each list before moving to the next? I am just curious to have an average.

And is there anyone else who had to deal with acid reflux/GERD along with their IC with Dr. B? Have you been able to treat them both effectively?

I would suggest sticking to list one and see how you are doing. Then of all is well maybe slowly adding some foods from list two and then three etc. Dr. B will have you start back on list one to begin with though. Shw does with everyone. Hope this helps!

Welcome! I too asked this question when I started 3 months ago and did not get many answers. I realized it was not because people were being rude (the women here are amazing!) but rather, because this treatment is so individual.
First, I would ask, are you within a month of seeing Dr. B? I personally would not go on list 1 diet for more than a few weeks, unless you are in her care so she can also give you the herbs and probiotics. List 1 is challenging, and it helps to be in treatment. If I had it to do again, I would have probably been on list 1 and 2 until treatment started (unless I was in a lot of pain.)
Some people are on list one for 3 weeks, some for 3 months, some for more than a year. It seems that she keeps many people on list 3 for a long time until they are very stable (months??) because this is the list with the most variety, but no yeast or harsh grains (oats, etc...) or too many fruits, or high vitamin/sweeter veggies. The goal early in treatment is to control for inflammation in the body. More high vitamin foods and natural sugars seem to increase inflammation. Supplements can do this too so this is carefully controlled.
While waiting to start treatment, I highly recommend you read her dissertation (can buy on Bomamed site in the on-line store-or at Amazon). I also have started reading the Web that has no Weaver, which is a good attempt to explain chinese medicine. We all have similar symptoms, but how our bodies got here is vastly different, which is why this is one of the chronic illnesses that is so hard to treat and requires a very skilled healer like Dr. B.
There are many in treatment that have or had stomach issues. It is one of the many possible symptoms of your imbalance. From what I have read, it resolves in treatment. Do a search on this site you should find some posts on this and ask Dr. B and she will explain it.
Also, I don't think all people start on list 1, but most do.

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

Mimi,
Thanks so much for this response. I really appreciate it. I have been on List 1 for about two weeks now and am coming to the conclusion that you mentioned: I just don't know if it's worth it to do it on my own, without the consulation and supplemental treatment I will need with it for it to be truly effective.
Thanks for the time table. I figured it would be individual based, but it's nice to have an idea of what to expect. I have tried several times to find/download her dissertation from the website... but haven't been able to! I will check on amazon.
Thank you so much.
Love, and healing energy to you,
Hannah

Hello Hannah! Progression through the lists is so individualized, but starting on list 1 is a good idea can really help with reflux and other symptoms! I am one that has had severe reflux/GERD issues since childhood, but am seeing improvements with this!  It has not totally resolved, but making slow steady progress! I have read others older posts and they have said this is one thing that resolved very quickly and pretty much with just the change in diet alone! Hope this is true for you as well! Not an easy road, but a road to health! Best wishes!

Thank you so much for your response cprince :) It's very reassuring to know that I am the only one with the GERD/IC dilemma. I'm so glad you've been experiencing a decline in your symtpoms
