My children's dentist wants to do sealants onthe back molars. I am sure they are plastic based so seems like a bad idea. Any opinions/

Hi Deir
This might be opening a can of worms, but this organization just had an oral health summit in Hawaii. They have all of the content available on line, you might have to search for the summit content or request it from them.  It looks like a time commitment to go through it, but could be self-paced. Also, I thought their website might be a good resource for you and have info on sealants. I too am going to have to look at these issues. Dr. B says if our kids eat real food, the cavity issue is minimized. I am trying at home to do this.....but you know the outside world creeps in!!

I decided against them. Not only I, most of my friends, who are far less health countious than I am decided against theml due to toxic chemicals they are made of. Didn't I hear you saying that your kids get Vitamine Butter + fermented cod liver oil and Calc supplements by Hylands? That should protect them against cavities to some degree. Healthy diets of course is a prerequisitve, too.
There is also information on WAP foundation. I keep looking at Cure Tooth Decay: Heal and Prevent Cavities with Nutrition on Amazon, I need to read it...

Thanks Blondy!
I found the orawellness website through WAP. I need to look into cod liver, etc... for my girls. Right now they get the DHA supplement from Dr. B's store.
