VV: clarification please

So obviously I am the only one with a vagina that actually falls asleep, and Dr. B said she had never heard of this either, however a 50 second youtube video with Dr. Oz confirms that this is normal.

HOWEVER, I am wondering if my current vv symptoms are neurological or not. Can those of you experiencing vv explain how it affects you?

For me, yes it falls asleep with the entire right or left side of my body sometimes. I feel tingling that sometimes feels like burning, but mostly feels like pins and needles to a moderate extent (like when a limb falls asleep).

I have had the itching burning sensations before but I feel like this is different. It kind of travels from one side to the other and affects the clitoral area too. Is this too much information?

Sorry if it is... I no longer have any shame when it comes to my body.

Love

Hi Hannah! I meant to respond to your last post. Yep, I have had my vagina fall asleep. Such a wired feeling. Yes, I do believe neurologic in nature. I believe that mine was brought on by yeast infections and the inflammation brought on by that. Mine is irritated by movement and walking. Can't wait for the vv to improve.

Hey Christina! Thanks for your response. I feel less weird. I was going to ask if there were certain positions that triggered it for people... I think mine is worse when I sit, but haven't decided yet if that's a cause...

Yes, I would say sitting is definitely when I feel the falling asleep sensation. I have a difficult time starting to urinate even though have the urge to go. I imagine from tight pelvic floor muscles not sure, but I notice the whole area falls asleep really easily while sitting on the toilet and it's not like I am on it that long, maybe a couple minutes and about every hour- 2 hours. It doesn't happen each time either. I thought it was normal just like every other body part falling asleep so never thought to mention it, who knew?! Haha!

Maybe all of this has something to do with swollen lymph nodes that are pressing against the nerves. You can feel numbness because of this every where in the body but maybe we get this where the most of our illness is. I know I have had this sensation several times during treatment.
