ADVICE NEEDED! :)

Okay, I'm going to try and make this as short as I can! I was in treatment about a year and a half ago with Matia for about 4 months but had to drop out due to financials. About 4 months after my IC started I began having some mild dizziness and anxiety.  The more Matia upped my RP, the more intense my dizziness became.  When I quit treatment it subsided almost completely, I only had balance issues when riding elevators or going on long car rides.  Basically anytime the ground was moving from under me.  Weird?

So fast forward to now.  I started treatment with Dr. Boaz July 20th, fully commited to the diet and excited to kick this thing in the booty.  The first month was going so smooth, pain was lowered, temper was a little more heightened but not bad, and coasting through life.  Then he upped my RP and BAM, the full blown dizziness and anxiety returned.  I'm functional but i feel like a ticking time bomb.. full of fear.  I told him about this at the next appt and he added Rhodiola and BAM BAM BAM!! My body REVOLTED.. i wanted to jump out of my skin.  Nervousness, anxiety, it was awful you guys.  So he had me quit the Rhodiola and sure enough after 8 hours i could feel my body returning back to its "normal" state.  Anxiety and dizziness still there.. and when I say dizziness its more like a drunken woozy off balance feel.  Hard to explain.  THen i got hit with a cold and he put me on loads of GML, EAR and goldenseal and after the third day of the high dosages my body started reacting the same way as it did with the rhodiola.  I took my 3rd dose of it on day 3 and it was like my body was pissed off and told me it had had enough.. the extreme nervous need to jump out of my skin feel.

So this is where I need yalls advice.  What the heck do you think is going on with me and these herbs?  My bladders doing okay with them but my anxiety and dizziness is not. Its scary.  I'm over hear with tears streaming down my face because I feel like I will never be able to handle these herbs the way most people do.  Its like my body is extrememly sensitive and I cant seem to communicate that well to Dr. Boaz.  He just keeps adding in more things that are making it worse.  Could it be as simple as die off from the diet thats adding to the dizziness and anxiety? I feel so alone and scared.  I made the mistake of googling other IC remission stories and oh boy.. talk about dread.

Thank you for listening.  :)

Hi Minnie! So sorry you are having a hard time. Many have strong reactions to herbs early in treatment and can last for quite a while. I am one who reacted and still reacts strongly to some herbs, but slowly the reactions are becoming less intense. It will get better, but keep communicating with Dr. B. our bodies are very sensitive, but it will get better! Hang in there!

Thank you cprince.. It's good to know I'm not alone in being super sensitive.

Minnie, I just wanted to reach out and say you are not alone in strong reactions. Like Christina, I have had strong reactions to herbs, including the ones you mentioned in your post, but after a while they subsided. Just keep communicating what your feeling with Boaz.

Glad your bladder is doing okay. That's really good!

Minnie!! So so glad you're back in treatment! :)  When it comes to the dizziness, anxiety, and nausea, you are NOT alone. It could be die off, or a reaction. Who knows really. I agree that communicating with Boaz is key during it all. About two years ago, I got food poisoning which led to my body's immune system deciding to kick it into high gear. My immune system picked up to battle the food poisoning, then never really settled down as it kept finding other things to fight. I had a major healing crisis, like massive die off for eight months straight. I had major nausea and mucus in my throat (sometimes was still nauseous without mucus). I was so dizzy during this time, I could barely stand up on my own without feeling like just toppling over. At the end of those months when it was finally subsiding, I asked Matia what she thought it was all about. She said that sometimes those things happen and your body just has to work out whatever it needs to get out. For me, no matter what she added or took away, it was there. Until it wasn't because my body worked it out. Now whenever I do have more mild bouts of die off, I am usually nauseous and dizzy along with it. Just keep communicating with him. Whatever it is will get out eventually and you'll be able to tolerate the herbs better.
