Burning and struggling

I've been struggling for the longest time with burning when I pee. It has gotten really bad lately. Does anyone else have this symptom?  It's awful because I have to pee every 40 minutes or so.

Dr. M said it might be from bad stuff coming out, but she's not sure. It might just be inflammation. It's been hard not to be discouraged lately when I still have this much pain after three years of treatment.  I wish I could talk to someone who has been where I'm at and gotten better. If there is anyone out there, please reach out. Or if any of you know of a current or former patient who I can talk to, I would so appreciate it.

Thanks,

Sorry don't have experience with this particular symptom but keeping you in my prayers. Sometimes it feels like it is impossible to get through with continued symptoms but you do and you will. I try to think of any change as something shifting hopefully for the better even if it feels worse at the time. Maybe I am nuts but I try to think that way. In the past 9 months or maybe more, I have had worsening nights every single night even more than I always had. I keep trying to think "Something is shifting and my body is trying to compensate by getting so much worse at bedtime" This process can threaten to drive you mad but it won't. You are strong and you have faith and you will see better days.

ps- I would also like to hear from some long time to heal patients.

Thank you, Deirdre.  I've been trying to stay positive, but boy has it been a major challenge lately!  I too have been having rough evenings.  Ever since treatment started, my nights were always better than my days, but not lately.  :(

I keep saying to myself, "It's always darkest before the dawn," and that comforts me.  Just this morning, my husband reminded me that I usually have a really good patch after a really bad one.

I definitely feel like things are shifting.  When my bladder is feeling a little better, I get headaches and other assorted things, then that stuff goes away and my bladder feels worse.  I guess it's just the inflammation moving around.  It's just the emotional stuff right now that is really hard.  I need a boost of hope!

Hey you two! In the last week I have been having such bad evenings. And usually that is my best time. I keep thinking, as Deir says, there is some reason for this! In the world of Natropathic Medicine, they believe that the organs heal themselves in reverse order to the order in which they became compromised. So things have to shift. And the chinese medicine clock explains that the body sends extra blood and nurishment to certain organs at different times of the day. One meridian that is usually weak for those with IC is the SanJao meridian which is the primary governor of digestion, food assimilation and distribution. This organ system is very active at night. This is why I am trying to get to sleep earlier in the hopes I can let that area heal more LOL. But I do feel like the shifting is significant and nothing is static in healing. Love to you both!

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

Mimi,

Thank you so much for that!  I can actually feel my digestive system working at night lately, in my stomach and upper intestines. And sometimes when I feel that, I also get a dark mood that comes over me that I KNOW is tied to that digestion.  It happened last night and this morning I had a decent BM (sorry if TMI).

So I think your assessment is right on target.

So glad to know I'm not alone and there is a possible explanation.
