Hi all
Boax recently asked me to try juice plus which I ordered from the UK amazon. Its just arrived and says that it contains oat bran fibre? my ic is extremely affected by gluten and I have been gluten free for years. Oats are normally cross contaminated by wheat gluten and to be honest I dont even want to try it. Has anyone else has experience with this product?

Thanks

Katie

They are gluten free. They only use the outer shell, and if you contact their company they have a pretty lengthy explanation about how they are gluten free. You could always contact the company directly for piece of mind.

I have emailed them. in what I've read they didn't specify that they use gluten free oats just that the product usually tests as gluten free. My issue is that the celiac society website seemed pretty down on it which I find to be a worry :/ as they are pretty stingent.

Hey I get it- it's scary to try new stuff. When JP is appropriate it is AWESOME. I have had major sensitivities to gluten too ( which I think was really wheat, sourdough etc) not so much gluten itself and I think JP is wonderful to clean out and help heal the stomach/GI tract. So there are times when it's too strong and we took it out but I don't think it was because of gluten. I just think the timing was wrong. Anyways. We are careful label readers aren't we? The Brizmans are bonkers strict on that so I am sure they considered that. Good luck on it.

This is the response I got from the company:

Hi Katherine,

Thank you for your email.

According to the current standard of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (FAO, WHO and EU directive 41/2009/EC), the gluten content must be below 20 ppm (mg/kg) for a product to be labelled “gluten-free”. This is the case for all Juice PLUS+ nutritional supplements.

Nevertheless, it cannot be ruled out that there may be traces of gluten contained. The decision regarding the consumption of Juice PLUS+ by those with a sensitivity to gluten or coeliac disease must ultimately be made by the customer or their medical practitioner.

Hope this helps!

I'm going to discuss it with boaz as before I went into treatment it was suggested I might be a undiagnosed celiac and I'm pretty terrified of gluten.
