other weird health problems

Hi Everyone-

I'm on the verge of a meltdown.  Despite eating this way on list 5 with just fruit as sweets FOR SEVEN YEARS, I've got elevated blood sugar.  I cannot &*(&*(^&^ believe this.  To make things worse, recently my blood pressure showed up a little high.  I've been on this ICAMA lifestyle since I was 24, I'm now 31!  And I'm having old people health problems.  I can't take it anymore!  It's so scary, and so weird.  Also, my bladder, while better is really not that great.

Has anyone else had anything similar crop up?  So upset!

Hi Researchnerd,

I don't have any words of wisdom but thought I'd respond anyway. It's tough and unfair. I'm still here too, coming up for four years. I am much better though, although I do still have many issues. The good thing is that you do have choices. You can do several things at this point: accept and adjust your life expectations accordingly, try something else alongside your current protocol, leave altogether, keep going. That's four different paths and some of these are not mutually exclusive. I understand the 'old people' problems. I felt like a 90 year old for years, and still have these same things going on (although much better). It does seem that some level of mythology has been created around this protocol so that many people suspend their whole lives until they 'get completely better'. Of course, nothing works 100% of the time for everyone. I do often wonder if it may be more helpful to people psychologically to begin to accept that they may never reach the magical, 'I'm back to my 20-year old self' place, and adjust in light of this. From my perspective, I think I was fairly negative from the start and as I didn't expect to get better any slight improvement was a bonus. This has served me very well because I am very clear with myself that I won't ever get back to how I was. But this is 'good enough' and I'll take it. It's much harder to do this in your twenties and thirties than when I started with all of this, in my early forties, but still, I wasn't exactly old either! There is no Just World and people do much better psychologically when they accept that, as I'm sure you know already. You need to live your life now, whichever form it comes in.

Oh that must be very distressing. It doesn't make any sense. You'd think at least blood sugar and blood pressure issues would be non existant withthis diet. Sorry- Iw ish I had some insight that would shed light on this.

Have Matia/Boaz got an explanation for the elevated blood sugar/blood pressure? Are they dealing with it?
