I had an interesting conversation come up with someone the other day and I wanted to share it. She said it is hard for her to believe that such a tiny amount of something is doing anything. As many of you know, I often will micro-dose. The reason I do this is because the body has such a difficult time with accepting certain substances into it without rejecting it. This is a very big part of IC as it is and as we try to rebablnce the body in this severly imbalanced condition, it is no different, and perhaps even harder.

Here is a follow up. And notice it talks about cholesterol being good fat not bad. This is really beautiful information. And, no, I dont take out all of your carbs, becuase you dont have cancer, but, I always try to get everyone to very little-it should be the lesser focus of your meals for this very reason-to treat and prevent illness. And, while this is not a cancer site, and while I am not any kind of cancer specialist, cancer does emanate from imbalance in the body.  Cancer has been linked genetics, and I wish I could count the number of times we have said here at ICAMA that it has so much more to do with diet, emotions, environment-epigenetics, but, I have lost count. I tirelessly say things that often get shot down by people debating the scientific data that offers a contrary opinion. However, I always stand by my thoughts, and finally this one has some scientific data to support it.

Drug resistance of bacteria is becoming an epidemic in this country and I am sure around many places in the world as antibiotics have been overly prescribed fo decades now. But, I dont think it is only the bacteria that are becoming resistant, it is the people they are using them on. People are becoming resistant because they have had countless prescriptions given to them over the course of their lives and now-guess what-they don't work anymore!

Just want to send a reminder for those of you trying to maintain good health-even after treatment, at least from the perspective of ICAMA thinking. Please do not eat fungal foods like mushrooms or very fungal cheeses. Please do not do much if any coconut. Limit soy to the occasional soy sauce at an Asian restaurant or as a lower ingredient in something-as in soy lecithin. Do not drink beer, and limit other alcohols if you choose to drink at all! When eating treats, choose or make ones that are fruit (or some natural sweeetener ) sweetened.

This is further information regarding the impact of your gut microbes on your body. Previously, I have posted on the effects of imbalances in the gut on obesity. This does discuss that, but, also includes the effects of the microbes on-SLIMNESS-interesting. http://www.theguardian.com/society/2013/sep/05/bacteria-slim-treat-obesi...   Dr.M

In the early years of my practice I did not understand why my patients cholesterol levels were going down when I was not restricting their diets in accordance with any typical cholesterol reduction type guidelines. As the years progressed I more full understood the impact of inflammation on the human body and the production of cholesterol and the dynamic between the two.

Someone asked me about my feelings on thyroid medicine. The issue with this particularmedicine is that it is overly prescribed in my opinion, and i those cases, may actually cause damage to the body balane and contribute therefor to chronic illness. Most times when I ask to look at the tests used to determine the need for thyroid deficiency, the test were just inside the range of normal and were being used for the purpose of "boosting" thyroid function for the person who had been feeling generally unwell and fatigued.

I am sorry I have not been posting much lately. My intention is to start blogging regularly and finding the time and space to make that happen. I continue to be very happy to see that people make good use of the chat board here on this site. It is a small community, but, never the less, it is a good one. And, those who are in need of support often find that this is a place where they can receive that support.
