While there have been many studies on sugar coming from a completely different point of view, i.e. the effects on the microorganisms and the consequences that has on inflammation and poor health, and while I do not fully agree with this author's opinion on animal fats, this is one of so many great articles on sugar and toxicity and well worth reading. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/17/magazine/mag-17Sugar-t.html?pagewanted=5&_r=1

There are times when antibiotics are a matter of life and death. I am very grateful that we have them for that reason. I for one can testify to being saved by them on more than one occasion in my life. I am however, also one that can say that they nearly destroyed me, because I did not know or understand, like so many people, that they are widely overly prescribed and given in so many circumstances they should not be.

Repeatedly, I often say that becoming ill can be a gift if one chooses to look at the situation from another point of view. It is an invitation to look at the path a person's life has taken up until the point that illness set it and see what events or circumstances led up to the illness. Changing one's life and or practices can change the course that that person was previously set upon. If one takes illness as a way of making positive change, everything can change-for the better-emotionally and physically.

I am definitely not an expert on nuclear radiation poisoning, but, have been scrambling to try and understand what is going on and what to do about it so that I could offer my patients any important information I can.
It is so frightening to face a situation like this all the way over here in the states, I cannot fathom being a parent over in Japan right now.

Of those of you on this site, would you mind please posting a comment on:
Where you live and what water you drink?
That would be really helpful!
Thanks so much.Dr.B

I have posted numerous articles before about the concerns of toxins in municipal water supply. This article concerns people in or near Pennsylvania or who drink spring water housed in PA-maybe. I am not sure, but, if either of these two apply to you, perhaps you should explore the situation further.
Water is an enormous subject when it comes to IC, and I am no water scientist, but, I do know that anything but Spring water will not do when it comes to IC and, all spring waters are not equal.
Please read this article all three parts:

This story too will find its permanent place on our kids page, but, I thought I would highlight it here first. One of my patients saw the story I posted the other day and sent her story in a few days later:)
Hi. I’m Melissa, and at 32 years old gave birth to my gorgeous daughter, Keira.

Often women come to me sick with IC with the unrealistic expectation to try and get pregnant a few months after they have begun treatment. I have turned several patients away over the years because of this because this is not something that I could make happen for them without a lot of pain. But, for those who waited until more balance was achieved in the body, pregnancy went really well, and the result-a healthy wonderful baby.

Dear NVIC Advocacy Team Members,
We are sending this NVIC Advocacy Team Alert to all our members to inform you of two bills in the state of Washington, HB1015 and SB5005, that not only threaten vaccine philosophical and religious exemptions for Washington residents but set a dangerous precedent for all Americans who value the ability to utilize a vaccine exemption for their children to delay or decline one or more state mandated vaccines.

ICA had contacted me recently because in their CAM survey they conducted last year, there was a lot of positive commentary from my patients regarding alternative medicine and the use of probiotics was mentioned a lot. She had asked me to clarify my thought on probiotics and was going to use what I wrote in a piece she was doing, but, she just told me that information will not be used. So, I thought I would post it here in case it is of any interest to anyone:
