To check out bomamed.com-sometimes I post other articles there that are a bit less IC specific.

Someone sent me this really sweet and thought provoking article about life, existence, and change. Life is an evolution and so is every aspect of our being-our emotions, our connections with the world and others, and our health. All of those things are inter-related and effect our health ultimately-healthy mind-healthy body. Sometimes we are so busy going through the motions of our lives, we don't stop and contemplate where we are going, why we are going, and how we feel-really feel. We don't spend enough time trying to feel alive and happy.

Some comments below prompted me to write this blog. There are so many emotional struggles with IC and I think they are all important to understand.

Someone was telling me today that she was told on line here not to eat something. Please, do not take advice from one another. Please, ask me what you should be eating. Dr. B

In all the many years that I have been practicing and treating IC, I have found that many sexual relationships are involved in or exacerbating the sick partner's condition. In many cases, the sexual relationship is not involved at all, yet, in a some significant percentage, it is and must be addressed so that the effected person and his or her partner may practice sex that is not continuing to make perpetuate the IC.

The gastrointestinal system is central to so many chronic illnesses-mental and physical. This article is interesting in that is sites examples of the increasing attention probiotics are receiving in the medical community in the treatment of mental disorders, IBS, and pain disorders. While the use of probiotics in the treatment of chronic illness is definitely an art and not something that may simply be administered alone and without a completely treatment plan in mind, they are often fundamental to the process of a patient having been chronically ill regaining wellness.

It is getting to be that time of year. The time of year that one reflects on the months and days past and those yet to come. I began this year, like all of us with a lot of hope. And, like all of us, some of the things I hoped for came true, while others didn't. I wanted to start a home for those who need free treatment. A haven where people can come and stay a while and learn how to change their life, a place for those who could not otherwise afford to get treatment at all.

I find that I have different versions of the same conversations daily and I am going to do my best to comment on them because I think bringing up some of these points may be helpful. The struggle towards wellness is a difficult road, especially when there is little support coming from family and friends. It is common to face a lot of adversity of opinion in choosing a path of alternative health as a way of breaking through the condition of any chronic disease, but, especially IC.

There are many remedies on the market these days as well as philosophies on anti-aging. This interesting article sites very simple dietary changes that can change the way you age. Hmmm, very interesting, they are identical to the ones bomamed and ICAMA recommend, and also, according to this article, Dr. Mercola.
