Food and Pain

Aside from the issue of whether or not you are able to eat certain foods off certain food lists, try to focus also on what else about the food matters. For example, if you are eating berries and you are having pain when you are eating them, maybe it isnt the berries!

I get asked a lot if one has to eat organic in order to do well in treatment. The answer is, no, I dont think so. Is it better, yes, it is, bc organic is healthier. However, I think there is a lot of room for forgiveness in there if organic is not in your budget.

Some foods, however, should be organic because their exposure to chemicals is greater.
Berries is one example bc their skins are more absorbent. So, if you are eating berries and
feeling pain from them, it may not be the berries at all.

Think about the things you are eating so that you can really pay attention to the responses you are having to them and we can discuss it during our talks together and make sure you are doing everything that is the best choice for you.

I am certainly not the expert in organic farming, so, look things up and we can talk about that too! I will always share what I know, and together we will piece your responses together if something isnt making sense.

Also, patience is important with adding in foods. Some people are able to add things in quickly, while others must take a lot longer. Please remember that it takes time for the responses to foods to lessen and lessen over time. Going through the diet methodically and patiently is really important so that you don't set the bar so high you set yourself up for failure.

Tenacity is important when it comes to this kind of approach to IC.
