I find it very hard to avoid soy where my kids are concerned. Soy is one of the things that a lot of natural food companies use in their products because it is not seen as problematic. Specifically Soy Lecithin is in so many things such as almond milk, bread, fruit juice sweetened cookies. I find it a little overwhelming to go shopping these days trying to avoid all the different variations of sugar and soy. I know that ideally I should avoid soy completely, but is there an acceptable amount of soy that a child could consume or do I need to become an even more rabid label reader? BTW, I really appreciate information like this, it's not the sort of thing we're going to learn about from the mainstream media.

REading labels is so important! In my opinion soy lecithin is fine, as it is a minimal amount of soy used to make things smoother. It is not a significant source that would cause strong imbalances. However, this is presuming someone is further along in treatment. If a person is at the beginning than, no, it is not OK.
