The Struggles of Treating IC

Treating any kind of chronic illness is very challenging-And treating IC is absolutely a challenge. Please try and remember sometimes as people get started, it seems almost effortless and goes very well from the beginning. While, at other times it is so difficult and pains taking. In those cases, it seems that the suffering will go on endlessly. This is where reading stories from others, or inspirational information here on the site can be helpful-or connecting to other people on the site sometimes can help as well.  

Reactions to many kinds of issues that come up in life, medications, diet, sex, products all may impact. So, if you are doing something to control one thing, it can have an effect on your IC. Please, if you are new, buy my dissertation, it answers many questions regarding my thinking. Often people become very focused on traditional ideas about treatment that may be a bit confusing when undergoing this kind of treatment.

If you are a very bad case, it may be very difficult for you in the beginning. This is not unusual. But, it does not mean that if you have a rough start that you can not go through this kind of treatment with great success.

Being tough, being positive, getting counseling, and being disciplined are all very helpful suggestions in this journey. If you have the support of your loved ones count your blessings-not everyone does!

This is a tough disease that requires a good amount of tenacity and diligence.  I have been doing this for thirteen years, it is even hard for me. Every person I treat is a clean slate-a new experience.

Like Hippocrates said-"it is more important to know the person who has the disease than to know what disease the person has".
