Hair Vanity

Hi everyone!

Total vanity question...are there any hair styling products we can use? I've looked at older posts and there is talk of Jason's Curl Cream...unfortunately this product is no longer available. Any suggestions for frizz, hold, volume...any thing to shape up my hair a little?

I am on List 2 and starting seeing Dr. B a little over a month ago. Loving the way I feel...not feeling the way I look...wacky hair...facial rashes, etc...LOL :)

Thanks in advance,

Claire

Sent you an email. I was in an absolute panic when I saw they stopped making this product!

Wow look what I found! Homemade hair gel! We can use gelatin right??
Dissolve ½ a teaspoon unflavored gelatin in ½ a cup of warm water and put it in the refrigerator. Stir your homemade gel well before using it. It will keep for one week. This gel recipe doubles easily if you use the full amount in just a few days. For gentler hold, dissolve ¼ teaspoon of gelatin in one cup of boiling water instead.

That is great! I have another appointment this Tuesday. I will ask about the gelatin. I would think it would be okay. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks! I read about this on a few sites...people swear by it...so I'm pumped! Definitely let me know what Dr. B says :) Thanks so much.

Ok. So Dr. B says gelatin must not come in contact with your skin. If you are going to try you must wear gloves apply to your hair only, keeping it away from your scalp. She suggested using egg whites instead! My thought maybe I will shave my head, that should solve the problem!:P Darn it, no easy solution for frizzy hair!

Having lost lots and lots of my hair , I have really struggled without products. I know this sounds like an advert !!! BUT I just got a hair drying big brush thing - mine is a babyliss big hair styler.
now - I ve only used it twice but it has cheered my heart a little. It gives a bit of volume and smooths the hair and it has definate ly improved my dry , thin, fluffy hair. It it really easy to use and I don't feel quite so deprived without my products since drying it with my spinning big brush ! Maybe you could find a cheap version to try. ? I was told to add a blast of cold air to help set the volume and shape. There are lots of 'how to use' videos on utube too. I really didn't think it would be any use but in my desperation I tried and I do think it is better than trying to wrestle with brush and hair dryer and flat thin no product hair. !
I also use a tiny bit of jojoba oil to the ends and this helps the condition a bit.
Hope this might help

Thanks bagpuss! Great suggestion! I have bought a straightening tool that helps, but with any humidity my hair looks like I stuck my finger in a light socket! I need something to help hold the friz to a minimum! Oh well! In time, I know I will be able to tolerate a product that I have found, just too strong at the moment to try! Oh the things I am looking forward too!:)
