Infant bladder infection

Hi Everyone,

My new little nephew is less than 3 weeks old and was hospitalized a couple of days ago with a high fever/chills with what the doctors now believe is a bladder infection.  I am so, so sad for this new little pumpkin!  My sister-in-law said he was crying and groaning in pain.  They gave him a spinal tap and have got him on anitbiotics.  He's now doing better (no more fever and is eating again).  This seems like such a heartbreaking way to start life!

I am wondering if anyone who has been treating their kids with Dr. M if they have any insights/recommendations for us.  Clearly his new gut flora will be thrown out of whack by all this but is there anything we should consider or do for him?  I'm thinking all the good colostrum he got probably isn't doing much now that he's had abx.  Any insights?

I'm also just putting this out there because we are clearly a community of compassionate people who can send this little baby some good healing energy.  It's been really scary for his parents and all of us.  Hopefully he'll bounce back but I'd love to be able to help him get back on track as best he can.

Thanks for your kind thoughts and advice ladies.  Things are not looking up yet as it seems the baby may have some sort of sepsis infection going on now.  I am praying for him and his parents and really appreciate all of your kind words and ideas.  I will pass them on to his mom and dad once he stabilizes.

I also advise not to give the baby any vaccines at this time.
