Kids multivitamin

Hi... was wondering if any of you Moms out there have a good brand you could recomemend, and also your thought about multivitamins for kids. Or if anyone knows Matia's thoughts, I haven't been able to ask her yet.

Now I know that they should be getting most of their nutrients from food. But my daughter is going through a stage (she's two and a half) where the only veggie she will eat is avacado's and corn! Ugh! Of course I can not force her to eat the others. I try and fix things that hide the other green veggies, but sometimes she won't even eat that. All the other food she eats is healthy, but I am getting concerned she isn't getting enough vitamins.

Thanks for any input.

Hello Hopeful,
My kids are long grown up.  HOWEVER, a few years ago I saw this Oprah show with Jerry Seinfeld's wife on it.  She was promoting - I think a cook book - about pureeing every healthy fruit or vegetable that your kids won't eat, and using it as an ingredient in your meals.  The concept was to trick the little darlings into eating it without knowing it!  My kind of woman. (Yes, my kids, as adults, still speak to me)

I like another cookbook for kids called The Sneaky Chef. You can download most of the recipes from the internet. She also recommends using jarred baby food veggies to mix into regular favorites. Starting out with small amounts to gradually get them used to the taste. Some people have an issue with this not showing your kids that they are eating veggies. I know from experience that with some kids this only comes with age. My 10 year old will eat almost any veggie now but when she was 3 to 6 nothing passed her lips that wasn't well hidden. This is where my 5 year old is right now. We set the example at the dinner table every night. Plates piled high with a variety of colorful veggies. He's starting to come around..slowly. As for vitamins, Matia recommended a powdered vitamin called All In One (something like that) but it was too strong and my kids wouldn't have anything to do with it. Very expensive too. Good luck!

Matia said there is  Juice Plus for kids, but I think it is from age 3.
My daughter just turned 3 and except for probiotics, she is not on anything, BUT every day she still eats a jar of peas/brown rice baby food from Earth's best, totally organic (approved by Matia), or Vegetable Turkey dinner from them. There are a lot of different kinds, just try and see which one she likes. I know it looks funny to see a 3 year old eating from a baby jar, but she still likes it and we take those jars everywhere as snacks! I know this is not an ideal way to get vegetables, but still helps when they don't want anything else.

for sharing your thoughts. I do appreciate it!
Maybe I am getting to paranoid about it all... when I start thinking about it, she does eat tomatoes, cucumber and Kale chips most the time too. I guess it is just hard when I am eating SO many veggies at each meal, and she picks at them.
I got a kids multivitamin at my health food store, and she wants NOTHING to do with it. I know it does not taste bad either (that's what husbands are for). So I guess for now I will try to keep adding it in where she can't detect it, and also I might try that baby food idea. I doubt she will even eat that, but I'll try.

Thanks again

I just bought baby food jars for my toddler. She's been eating baby fruit pouches, but we discontinued jars with meat. I will reintroduce them. Hope she likes them again. It is also easier and healthier while away from home, better than restaurant French fries and chicken nuggets. They don’t seem to offer healthy choices for little ones.
