Hi, I just had my appointment with Boaz. He's amazing and I'm so ready to get started. I feel overwhelmed and anxious, but ready to start this path! I'm just needing some encouragement. Vulvodynia, chronic yeast, and painful vaginal symptoms are by far my worst symptoms and what I fear, more than anything, won't go away. Is there anyone who's been in treatment for a while, done with treatment, etc who's improved or completely recovered from these issues in addition to the bladder? I'm so ready to feel like a healthy, normal woman again and to be able to do normal things. Thanks everyone.
Does anyone else ever find it hard to actually pee? Like you have to strain to go? I get this on and off and the last week it has been bugging me so much. It's particualrly worse at night (when my bladder is fuller and I get up to go). It's a horrible feeling! I have to push and stop--and-start and I can feel it's so bad for all the muscles down there and it sometimes sets of pain! It also makes me afraid I'm going to get a bladder infection from having retention. I haven't seen anyone else really mention this symptom, so just wondering if it's something other people get sometimes ...
Hi all! I am so excited for my appointment with dr. Boaz next Saturday! I have started the diet and chose to do no grains to see how I feel. Also because I have been overdoing the carbs for a really long time and feel like its caused visceral cravings.
The interesting thing is that the day I stopped grains, my bladder got worse? Literally by 12 o'clock the day i went off of grains to the point where I had to take a prelief which I find myself taking in general two to three times a week when symptoms skyrocket to putting me into bed.
Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted in so long as we didn't have internet. I would read the forum at the library, but for some reason I could never post. But now we have internet again!
When I came to Dr. B I was in so much pain that I couldn't drive long distances or be away from my home and bathroom for long. I had terrible problems with swelling in my bowels, as well as the pain and frequency in my bladder. I had head sores, horrible dry eyes, hot flashes, bleeding hemorrhoids, and chronic canker sores.
As I promised, I post some news of my progress. I finished chemo a month ago, an now I will start radiotherapy. Here are the good news, they will do only 16 doses of radio ( the minimum is 18, it is less for me). And this can only mean one thing: cancer remission. ( radiotherapy is only for cicatrize)
I am fighthing some candida ( on and off for a month, aug!, this is getting on my nerves) and neck problems by now. My IC is relatively calm. I have a lot of way to go, but mentally I feel relief.
A couple of months after I got IC I ceased taking birth control pills (which I had been taking for approx 7 years straight). Since I stoppe the pill, my period has disappeared. It has now been a little over a year and still no period :(
Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar to this and whether Matia thinks it is related to IC, and if so, how? Also, hoping to hear that some of you got your period again during treatment. It is really starting to worry me!
Just wanting to share that as soon as i started ACTUALLY following the protocol I started feeling better. I was in complete brain fog a month ago. I wasn't taking the prescribed dose, was confused about food lists, and did a few things that I thought were harmless but flared me. So, I wasn't really feeling better, and maybe a little worse. AS SOON as i started really following the EXACT protocol, I started feeling better.
Hi, everyone! I'm new here...my appt with Dr Boaz is this week and I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I know Candida is likely a key player for many of you, but I'm wondering if any of you feel if it's likely the sole contributor to your IC. Mine all started 1 year ago with a yeast infection after antibiotics, then several more rounds of antibiotics later things got progressively worse. I know I've likely had Candida problems for a while, as I have a history of antibiotic use. Are any of your protocols focused on candida?
I wanted to add that I do hope Dr. B can handle all of my 'stuff' all together. My teeth not healing, my chronic fatigue, my headaches, my whatever it is...I have this fear about being a good candidate like they would find something. Silly mind, shhhhhhh. Allow this!
Thanks for letting me vent. Fear of not being understood has been a huge part of this whole thing.
Yay! I am finally booked and scheduled to go to California in two weeks to see Dr. boaz! So incredibly excited to begin his journey! I feel like I am about to embark on the beginning of my new life in so many ways. Thank you all for your guidance and for your encouragement. I feel welcomed to the team!
