My daughter was stung by a bee the other day and I put on a linament to stop the pain and swelling which was really rahter severe and swift. The linament took about an hour but it did start to reduce the swelling rather dramatically. Oddly, an hour later, her friend also was stung with the same severe reaction. This child had not been there when the first sting happened. So, her parents not knowing what I had done said--oh get an aspirin and crush it and rub it on the sting (of their child). My daughter turned and asked, "what is aspirin?".
It was classic. Everyone laughed at her and thought it was funny, but, my heart lit up with a kind of happiness that she never had the opportunity to have to know that.

I love that! Silly question,
I love that! Silly question, but what is a linament?
I am allergic to bees and thankfully have not been stung recently but I do often wonder what else I can do besides the Epi pen? I know you have said before bee allergies improve after treatment.
linament is a liquid herbal mixture
I actually didnt have much at home-I used lobelia liquid extract and colloidal silver. I would have used goldenseal and oregano had I had them-both liquid. The linament wasnt working as well the next day so I switched to powdered goldenseal and mixed it with lotion, I added some lavender essential oil and tea tree oil. Its working fine:)But...best remedy is apis mellifica 6x- a homeopathic if the situation is really bad-as in-you need an epipen or to go to the hospital.
Never heard of aspirin used
Never heard of aspirin used as treatment for bug bites before, but I assume same concept as baking soda and water. My family always used baking soda for mosquito bites/bee stings. Is this safe to use? The only good thing about having a very dry summer is no major outbreak of mosquitoes, so thankfully haven't had to really worry about it this year.
BAking soda
will neutralize the stinging, but, I dont THINK it will take away the swelling. But, if it has worked well in the past--continue doing it!

I used Apis mellifica for my 2 yr old last month and watched a bee sting almost magically go away. It was amazing. I was glad I remembered to try it.
