Please dont forget to check posts on Facebook ICAMA and Bomamed for posts there. I sometimes post there instead of here and sometimes vice versa depending on the content. I have been spending a lot of extra time outside of my work hours supporting some patients who needed extra help and a couple of people close to me who have been quite unwell with cancer. Interestingly one--who smokes and eat tons of if nothing else but junk-is going to make it quite fine after having a surgery extract the encapsulated cancer from their body and the other, a health-based person-seems to also be doing better following her health based program.

Cancer is such an ugly topic of conversation as often the outcome is not good at all. Ive learned more about it than I ever cared to know in the last decade having lost many people close to me to it. Lately I have been a bit hyper focused on this subject and how it inter-relates to chronic inflammatory conditions such as IC. And while I am certainly no expert or even close on the topic of cancer, I feel that this knowledge is really important and does inter-relate to other inflammatory conditions including IC-especially when one thinks of diet. Some schools of thought for cancer say no meat-eat only fruits and veg, while others say eat animal protein and veg no fruit. For me I have found that IC treatment only works well with the inclusion of animal protein-which-for me is extremely difficult to advocate, despite my strong beleifs in its veracity as I am a HUUUGE animal lover and feel a great amount of distress eating animals myself. This is something that I will likely die not reconciling within my own soul.

The ketogenic approach to cancer and the ICAMA diet protocols have a similar base--this is a lot of what I have been thinking about. So, I have spent alot of time pondering this issue and each time I think perhaps I might be wrong, I get yet another person coming along who does not seem to do as well without the inclusion of animal protein in their diet-especially and most importantly red meat.

On another note, I have also been for the first time drinking filtered water from a quite a complex filtration system--so far its been 4 months. When I get to the year mark, perhpas sooner, I will post more. I am looking forward to helping to provide more options for people on their water and letting go of the bottle-but don't do it yet.

This two decade journey has been filled with a lot that has helped us deepen our own knowledge in order to help others with the use of Chinese medicine. Time and again we have found its conceptual model of physiology irreplaceable in helping people get better. Fine tuning that knowledge constantly is a process that we remain dedicated to.

Thank you for this post. It is quite timely because my own family has two members struggling through cancer- one breast and one pancreatic. I am interested to hear more about the diet we follow vs the differences for a ketogenic or cancer fighting diet.- specifically grains. On one hand, I don't feel entirely well without them - on the other, I don't feel right with many either. So I suppose my question asks could you share with me the quantity of grains you recommend for us and also the type that are a good option who are gluten free?  Katie

Oh I am so sorry to hear this! There is so much to know and everyone has a different theory. However, I feel most drawn to the idea of the ketogenic diet- focusing strictly at first on just animal protein and veg.NO FRUIT EITHER--in this conceptualization of the condition-all sugars including fruit and carbs feed cancer so it is important to not give the body fuel to do so. Nuts and seeds are OK-but not peanuts as those are highly fungal. If there is any dairy at all, it should be raw. This wont be easy. Then after progress is made, adding in small amounts of grain-small-as in 10-15 % of the diet. There are also herbs I have read about that can be quite helpful--artemesiae annuae is a big one. The evidence I have read has been quite compelling--also goldenseal believe it or not. And lastly-cancer is correlated with fungus--I would also include a good anti-fungal like SF722. I am only imparting interesting things I have read-I am not giving advice as I do not treat cancer. But these are interesting things I have read and learned and observed others doing. It seems that vitamin D-apparently is quite important with cancer. There is one type of pancreatic cancer that is evidently quite curable with surgery actually. Another friend's father who is 85 went through the surgery last year and came through! It was a miracle! There is also a clinic in Texas--Dr. Stanislov Burzynski-there is a documentary on him and how he has treated stage 4 tumors and saved the loves of so many for many years. I would highly recommend calling there. The Gerson clinic too-in Mexico-this is vegan focus-they have a great reputation, and there is also an injection known in Canada--and for the life of me i cannot remember what it is, but it is said to cure cancer and is used on the terminally ill there. If you email me privately, I will dig through my notes, I am just spacing on the name of it now. I hope this helped a bit.

This is incredibly helpful to me! Thank you;) I finished watching The Truth About Cancer Series and found it fascinating. I believe it is having free showings right now if anyone is interested. I will certainly take a look into the clinics you mentioned. I am sending healing thoughts to your friends who are fighting- cancer is a terrible illness.

Please keep us updated on the water. I have spring water delivered and only use that for drinking and cooking. Would love to know more about the filtered water.
