If You Are Doing Your Nails...

When going through this kind of treatment, and, in general, eliminating as many chemicals as you can is always best. But, it is nice tobe able to dye your hair and polish your nails, I understand completly. Try and get the natural products and do them at home instead of going to a salon-they are very toxic typically.
Also, the products they use are more toxic as well. Try to find natural alternatives such as:

http://gonatural.biz/, http://www.zoya.com/, and many others.

REcently, I ran into a problem with a patient who was doing the newer nail gel which, lasts longer. IT was a huge disaster causing a lot of problems for her. When I looked it up, I was really taken by surprise, not knowing that is could possibly cause so many problems. This patient told me her best friend did it too and her nails fell off. Her mother did it and stopped after the first visit because it damaged her nails so badly. HEre are a few articles on these products:

With this topic in mind, I am having terrible dry skin around my finger nails as well as horrible chapped and bleeding lips with the changing season. I am traveling and don't have anything with me and it's really hurting me. I'm near Whole Foods and wondered what I can look for as a lip balm but am afraid to try most anything with Vitamin E, aloe, etc. I read some post on jojoba oil. Is that my best and only option?

jojoba is probably the safest bet, yes. It feels really nice on your skin too!

Hi all and happy American Thanksgiving!
I went to a store to pick up some Zoya nail polish and was told that both OPI and Essie have recently made the change to remove all toxic substances from their nail polishes as well.  Apparently if the label on the bottom of your OPI product is green, you have the new stuff without all the toxic junk.  Same goes if your Essie label is blue.
Thought I'd share for all the polish lovers out there like myself!
