Sugar--NOT SO Sweet!

Sugar causes many problems in the body because of the underlying imbalances that it creates. Those imbalances lead to inflammation all over the body. That inflammation leads to many kinds of chronic illnesses. A high sugar diet coupled with other kinds of things such as overuse of various kinds of medications and other dietary practices is a great recipe for disease including IC. Why are we seeing so much more chronic illnees these days? Because of all of these things that we think of, as a society, as common place and benign. Sugar tastes sweet and yummy, but what it does-NOT SO SWEET! http://www.aftenposten.no/english/local/article861546.ece

What about fruits?  How much a day is appropriate?  I used to consume large amounts of fruit; I used to eat it up to six times a day.  I know that is too much.  Oddly enough, the first "anti candida" diet a natural dr put me on included fruit and pasta, so I ate large amounts of that.  I was not taught about the importance of protein and vegies.  No wonder why I didn't get better. All I ate on that diet was carbs

Fruit offers a tremendous amount of great stuff--fiber, vitamins, etc..But, I think the problem is that people get into the habit of eating it instead of meals and eating too much per day. My preference is to have it as a snack or a dessert, or with breakfast as a part of the meal. I think two servings per day of fruit is good and healthy. Three is still OK, more than that is probably too much. And, all this is considering that you are eating at least three meals of starch and proteins to keep your blood sugar and insulin levels stabilized. And, lastly, you want to make sure you get your veggies in with lunch and dinner!
