Taking Advice From Other People

It has come to my understanding that there is a group of people who have decided to give other of my patients advice. This has hurt several of my patients due the advice that they have been given.

I am a very committed doctor of Chinese medicine. I have not only developed this work for IC, but have been devoting my life almost literally around the clock for 14 years (and have studied it for 20) by giving countless hours of free service of my personal time daily including vacations.

It is very upsetting that people are telling other people to go against my advice and follow their plan presuming that their advice holds greater value than someone with such a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise.

As I have said countless times, never take advice or follow someone else's plan. Each person's body is different, and the path of illness to wellness is different. There are steps that one has to go through to make proper changes in their body. And, there are reasons that I do things that a layperson cannot possibly understand not having the same amount of education or experience.

Following the diet from day one, not cheating, and taking supplements in proper combinations is very important to this process.

Please do not take advice from other people-this will negate my work and undue the process. I understand how difficult it is to go through this. But, in life, there are no short cuts and certainly not with IC.

I am a daily reader of the forum. I have not seen any of this going on. Not for IC/treatment related issues. I have seen requests for suggestions on how to treat colds, sinus infections, etc. Mostly for other family members. These suggestions are always given with warnings to check with you if someone is in treatment with you. I can't image taking other patients treatment advice for myself. Our symptoms, stage of treatment, ect. are so different from each other. I can understand how something like this is frustrating for you. When it goes wrong, we turn to you to fix it. Thank you for giving so much of yourself to us. Thanks to your family for supporting you and sharing so much of you. Anybody who knows me has heard your name. They know how much you have changed my life. I can never thank you enough. Tammy

Thank you for your support. It means so much. I give my heart into my work and it is a huge sacrifice that I am honored to give. This work has been everything to me short of my family of course. This has not gone on here, but, has taken place on another site that people have established to communicate. Going to other treatments is fine. I have had many people do that over the years, most of whom have come back, some of whom have not. What concerns me is the short-sightedness of people giving other people advice who are supposed to be under my care by people who are not understanding the complexity of IC or of physiology.
