Threadworms in kids?

Hi everyone,

I think that my youngest may have the above (boak - I have a phobia of things like this so this is going to be fun). Some kids at school have this and although I've never seen them in him (so no idea what I am looking for), I suspect that he may well have them too. We've never had this so no idea what I am doing.  Has anyone had to deal with this issue and how have they done it without using otc treatments? I'm steeling myself for a very unpleasant few weeks so any advice much appreciated.

ewwww I hear you- parasites are gross. I think the way you can tell is to put a little piece of tape on their anus in the morning and look at what lifts off / I htink then you can see the eggs or even worms. Sorry- i know this is a otugh one. I use homeopathya ll the time with kids and CIna is the remedy most used for worms I believe

There is never a full moment in parenting, is there? Lol! I thought lice was bad enough! Keep us posted.

If by threadworms you also mean pinworms then here is a natural link. Even Boaz said I should follow the pinworm medication instructions and dose the whole family (not me) 2 times! Wash all linenes and then was towels every couple of days. Wash your hands. Keep all family fingernails super short. And last but not least (from this document) use vaseline dab on their bums every night for about 5 weeks. They can't lay eggs with the vaseline there! It works but you have to do it every night until the pinworms have gone through a whole breeding cycle. Read this file from a midwife, it is pretty good!!

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

Thanks everyone. I think I do mean pinworms - not sure where I got threadworms from (I googled as soon as the issue came up but couldn't see any natural/alternative treatments on the first go - too busy scraping myself up off the floor, I think). Uuurgh. Ok. Here goes. I'll do what Mimi says - sounds sensible (so tempting to take one worming tablet!). I'd read about the vaeline somewhere too. I'll follow that link, and keep you posted. Thanks again.
