Someone who has been a patient for over a year now and doing quite well brought up a question that I thought was really important. She said she had a traumatic event occur in her life just before she started having chronic infections in her bladder that led to instillations and treatments and ultimately IC. Interesting question! There was a study that we had come up back when I was in school that involved the affects on the urinary bladders of young children proximal to heavy bombin areas in World War II.

We are all in such a rush all of the time, busy with our lifes, some of us consumed with illness, and whatever other struggles we have going on in our lives. I am guilty too! I am rushing from phone call to email to treatment room and not stopping to enjoy the extra moments between.     Today I JUST noticed a picture hanging on my own wall in my own office that has been there for years that I hung up myself! And it is such a profound and beautiful piece of art. It says:

I try to never put my cell phone to my head. I am not sure this makes a complete difference, but maybe it will save me from a brain tumor. This article is really important, please read it! http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/08/12/cancer-ins...

As mothers, we do our best to keep ourselves aware for the sake of our children. The beginning years are so important to create a strong foundation for a child. Plastics are celarly becoming more of an issue of toxicity and here is a great article on that topic: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26137215/from/ET/

This Week's End note is coming late, I am sorry! I think the idea that I would like to comminicate this week is this: The journey towards wellness sometimes is limited by one's own open mindedness. We were speaking with visiotrs from out of the country the other night and one of the people has had a chronic pain problem for several years now. She has seen every doctor imaginable where she lives--both Western and alternative with no success. My husband and I were speaking to her and her husband about the concepts of internal imbalances creating "external" pain syndromes.

How many times do you open up a container or pick up a product and it stinks? I think when you are not healthy you may not even notice those things, but, when you are more in tune you may be more primed to be sensitive to those awful smells. It happens alot with kids toys believe it or not and lots of other products that make it into your house. Toxic outgassing exists in many things you dont think about, thinkgs that might not even fail the nose dector, like paints, hardwood floors, and other material around your home, car, clothing, and work.

This questions comes up sometimes in treatment--"should I get this vaccine?" "should I get the vaccine for my daughter?" http://www.naturalnews.com/023792.html

As many of you know, I have said repeatedly that getting IC can be an invitation to changing the course of the rest of your life and actually preventing more horrible diseases like cancer in addition to making your bod healthier and well balanced. It is hard to see something like that when you are really sick and struggling. When my mother had cancer and was dying, I often thought to myself, cancer must be linked with candida and other microbiological imbalances.

I just read this article on happiness and it got me thinking. Happiness is such a subjective state of mind. In this article in underscores the idea that achievements and belongings do not equal happiness.

There are so many feelings that come up around this subject that have much more to do sensations coming from your nerve supply. Of course when there is an abundance of inflammation there will be a resistance to having sex. How could a person be interested in exciting an area that is already in so much pain? This is really hard on both partners--the one who is sick and his or her partner suffers as well.
