Every once in a while an older patient having gone through treatment and having been well for a long while will come in in crisis. It happened this week and it reminded me to remind each of you a few important things:

1) dont forget to preserve what you have worked hard to ear-balance in your body.

2) Many things upset this balance and just because something feels good for a while, doesn't mean it will continue to do so after you reach its cumulative effect

Here are two fascinating articles on the Gut. Researchers are only at the edge of discovering what our internal environment is really about. The balance of these organisms influence our health and disease as well. There are trillions of organisms inside us and the balance of those organisms in our small intestine help to comprise 70% of our immune system. People do not realize how important that balance is.

People often turn to sugar substitutes, but, they are even worse than sugar in numerous ways. Dr. Mercola outlines some very important points when it comes to one very popular sugar substitute. I very much agree with almost all of this. I see many people getting into a lot of trouble with their health while using chemical sugar substitutes. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/04/26/major-medi...

Some people do not do well on salt with IC, but, most do fine with it. YOur salt should be healthy salt. Often salt has sugar added! Did you know that? YOu need to read labels carefully. Processed salt is actually not healthy for you, whereas other natural forms of salt are healthful to the body. I thought that this was a very interesting little article that summarizes it nicely.http://www.myhimalayansalt.com/himalayan-salt/himalayan-salt-primer

While there have been many studies on sugar coming from a completely different point of view, i.e. the effects on the microorganisms and the consequences that has on inflammation and poor health, and while I do not fully agree with this author's opinion on animal fats, this is one of so many great articles on sugar and toxicity and well worth reading. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/17/magazine/mag-17Sugar-t.html?pagewanted=5&_r=1

There are times when antibiotics are a matter of life and death. I am very grateful that we have them for that reason. I for one can testify to being saved by them on more than one occasion in my life. I am however, also one that can say that they nearly destroyed me, because I did not know or understand, like so many people, that they are widely overly prescribed and given in so many circumstances they should not be.
