As my daughter said to me, "Mommy, why would they put toxic things in children's toothpaste?", and I answered...adults do stupid things too sweetheart!

How about putting toxic chmicals in the public's water supply?

We have been telling patients for years not to use anti-microbial soaps due to the adverse effects that they create in those using them. I have forbidden my children from allowing these soaps and hand sanitozers to be placed on them at their schools despite quite intense push back from their teachers and school administrators.

This is the first article that I have read indicating that the medical public is beginning to realize just how destructive these types of substances are and what a negative impact they are having on the health of the population.

Pop corn is one of those foods that is techincally fine around list 4/5. However--this is a very individual type thing as is true with many of the foods within those lists.

The diet lists are defintiely skeletons that I go by and we individualize depending on the person. Foods that are very highly fibrous as is the case with popcorn can be abrasive to the intestines and therefor cause more problems with intestinal leakage. So, if you are eating popcorn and finding that you are flaring, this is likely why.

The articles says more than I could possibly explain well. So, I will let it speak for itself. Crazy that such contaminants are allowed to ever get into our food supply: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2014/05/06/vermont-gm...

I received this email from a patient this weekend who newly gave birth to one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. She is soooo adorable. I am having technical difficulties posting the picture, but will hopefully get it worked out and post it here. But, mean time, here is a little paragraph abou how she got here:

This might be a tough post. I am going to try and articulate some very fundamental things. And, as I learn over and over again from these posts and my every interaction, and most recently from my posts the other day, I need to be careful about the words I use so as not to distress anyone. The thing is, somehow I manage to distress people when I feel like inside of my consciousness, I am about one of the most positive people I have ever come accross.

It seems I may have created more frustration and confusion than I intended. It isvery hard to capture the essence of what I am trying to say sometime in such a short formatting.

Someone asked me to post on why some people get through this treatment really fluidly, while others take long periods. This is a complicated answer so I will try to answer it as concisely as possible.

There are basically very different reasons for this-they are numerous. Although, in my opinion, there is one kind of disease process going on with IC, it is not the same condition and there for non identically treatmable in each person. Why is this?
