Sugar

All of you know my thoughts on sugar. Sugar consumption can cause so many kinds of imbalances in the body and, in my opinion, sugar consumption coupled with other kinds of health practices can be a huge contributor to chronic illness. Often, these are not the kinds of things that we are being told.

Is there anything sweet that is ok for the body? (I am mostly referring to a post ic diet) are there any sweets that you eat?

PS: I was surprised by some of the info contained in this link on sugar. It says sugar eaten in moderation after a well balanced meal causes no symptoms. of course this article is referring to children, not adults with ic. but it seems to advocate eatiing some sugar? after what I have been through, I am terrified of eating sugar, but after such a long time on the diet I am craving it and the self denial is getting hard

Yes! There are many ways to enjoy sweetness without causing stress to your body. Using Fruit as a sweetener is one option or just eating frui. But, getting products sweetened with (or making your own goodies )agave or fruit is a great way to enjy sweet foods without causing the imbalances in your body that sugar does. Although, you just need to do it at the proper time. SO, if you are still very symptomatic, then you need to wait, but once you have been able to get your body healthy and well balanced again, then those things are fine. I have a list under IAIC gentle products guid here on the website with a list of recommended food items. I will be adding to that list continually, and under sweets I have many foods that you can buy that are great ideas for you and your family. BTW this is all I use in my family!

I don't see the list of IAIC gentle products. Which forum topic is that under?

I don't think that it is a forum topic. It is under the heading Integrated Approach. I do wish that it could be added to.
