It is getting to be that time of year. The time of year that one reflects on the months and days past and those yet to come.

I began this year, like all of us with a lot of hope. And, like all of us, some of the things I hoped for came true, while others didn't. I wanted to start a home for those who need free treatment. A haven where people can come and stay a while and learn how to change their life, a place for those who could not otherwise afford to get treatment at all.

I find that I have different versions of the same conversations daily and I am going to do my best to comment on them because I think bringing up some of these points may be helpful.

The struggle towards wellness is a difficult road, especially when there is little support coming from family and friends. It is common to face a lot of adversity of opinion in choosing a path of alternative health as a way of breaking through the condition of any chronic disease, but, especially IC.

There are many remedies on the market these days as well as philosophies on anti-aging. This interesting article sites very simple dietary changes that can change the way you age. Hmmm, very interesting, they are identical to the ones bomamed and ICAMA recommend, and also, according to this article, Dr. Mercola.

Soy

is one of the foods I recommend staying away from completely during treatment and limiting to the occasional trip to a Chinese or Japanese restaurant after treatment. Soy will completely disrupt any success in treatment, as will many other substances. But, it will especially disrupt digestion and will cause considerable pain. This is especially difficult for my patients who have ethter been raised on soy or who have been consuming it for years, but, like the importance of eating red meat in this treatment-it just wont work any other way.

People ask me how different IC is from cancer. That is a huge subject. But, I would say that in some ways, it is not very different at all-just, its manifestation is different.

I have so many views on cancer, but, I do not treat it. Yet, I think the kind of approach that I take with IC is applicable to cancer. Certainly the fundamental ideas about what led to a person being sick are extremely similar if there are any dissimilarities at all.
