I posted last week about a patient who had a very bad reaction to a flu vaccine. Vaccines, while not directly related to IC are in fact related. They have a great impact on our health, as do many other medications. So, our awareness of this issue becomes very important as we try to do our best to keep our bodies operating in optimal balance.

...all for posting such sincere and insightful thoughts on my Thanksgiving blog.

There were many wonderful posts and many other emails that came in to me privately. I have to say, I continue to be in awe of the human spirit. With all of the heartaches I have experienced and have witnessed others going through, I am continously reminded that what we emmanate from from within more often than not returns many times over.

Thank you all for sharing your hearts.

As Thanksgiving is approaching, I just wanted to share a few things that I am thankful for.

I am thankful for all of the very obvious things such as, a warm, dry roof over my head. Well, after I fixed all the leaks in my house:). I am thankful for being able to have good tasting, nutritious food for me and my family. OI owe this to living in a state where you can still buy raw milk without fear of prison. Well, almost.

When going through this kind of treatment, and, in general, eliminating as many chemicals as you can is always best. But, it is nice tobe able to dye your hair and polish your nails, I understand completly. Try and get the natural products and do them at home instead of going to a salon-they are very toxic typically.
Also, the products they use are more toxic as well. Try to find natural alternatives such as:

http://gonatural.biz/, http://www.zoya.com/, and many others.

When asked, I recommend against vaccines for those in treatment.

I just recieved an email from a patient in weeks of distress from the after effects of a vaccine just the other day.

This posting by Dr. Mercola is very interesting and very important to read especially if you have young children! http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/11/15/vaccines-b...

I was speaking to a friend of mine the other night, who, is not a doctor, but, she works to help women get well emotionally through sharing the wisdom of her own personal experiences and her years of yoga work. We were discussing our philosophies about recovering from chronic unwellness. She communicated many of her thoughts regarding the subject and it is so funny to have your own thoughts itterated by someone else. She said so many of the exact things that I think.

Anyone who has worked with me knows that much of what my work is based on has to do with the various types of chemicals, foods, and medicines that our bodies are coming into contact with. Some of this we have a lot of control over, while other things we have very little control over or may be completely unaware of. Flouride is an example of that. This is very interesting information about this subject and one reason why there is a difference between filtered tap water and bottled spring water.

does not mean everything there is organic. This came up in conversation today and it occured to me to bring this up. When shopping at any healthfood store, always make sure you are reading your labels. Lots of things are just standard and not organic. Lots of things have substances that you may not want to be putting into your body. So read read read!

Also, just because it is natural and healthy does not mean it is healthy for you! What might be appropriate for one person's body may make another person sick. This is another reason to read your labels.
