I had a lot of conversations this week involving personal thoughts on food. It is so interesting how many of us view food as comfort. And also to share ideas about how we view food groups and the way we become accustomed to making our meals. What is also interesting is the psychology behind deprivation if one is to be told to not eat certain kinds of food.

I had an interesting conversation the other day with a patient and I would like to express some things that came up because the points were/are important.

I thought I would post this very interesting article about how babies are delivered and how children are brought up. Of course, how a baby is delivered is not always within one's control and there are LOTS of things to balance the negatives out so don't be upset when you read this. But, generally, this is great information.

First-someone asked me how to present questions-just drop me an email.

Q: ....... child spacing. What is the best time to have the next baby. Should we with ic background wait longer, so our bodies get back in balance first.
Would two pregnancies and breastfeeding deplete the body too much?
(I wonder if baby led weaning, which happens around age 3 or 4, means we shouldn't get pregnant before that)

Someone asked me to post about what to introduce and when into a baby's diet. As it happens, very strangely, my sister just brought me all the medical records that my mother saved from when I was born. How crazy. So, I have this record of the sad things they did to me from the time I was a month old.

Yes, the vaccinated me at that young age (uhhh), and they started giving me food, yes, food in addition to breast milk at ONE MONTH! They gave me some kind of soft rice breakfast cereal, and OMG added...SUGAR. It didnt get better from there.

Q: I think you have discussed this, but could you talk about fermented food (home made versus, store-bought fermented veggies--For example, Bubbies pickles in moderation- which my family loves!) Are these ever safe? End of treatment?  After treatment? Aren't fermented veggies in small amounts similar to raw milk?

I just wanted to let pepople know that have asked me to post on some things, and I want to post some things. I started this am and then my computer crashed :(

I had a crazy week last week because I had extra behind the scenes work I needed to do for a patient. I will try and catch up again. My computer crashing in the one hour I had time this morning didn't help.

So sorry!

Most of you know our feelings on benzodiazapines. We are not MDs, or pharmacologists, and thus, we do not pretend to understand these prescription medications from a chemical view point. However, clinically, we do have a lot of experience trying to treat people on these drugs and sometimes in the aftermath of them.

My mother was a Halloween fantatic. She planned months in advance and hand made each of our costumes. She would lie to us and tell us we were going to be something we were not and surprise us with a completely different and elaborate costume in the 11th hour and everyone would be in awe of her amazing talent.

Olive oil is a big subject evidently-bigger than I thought. I ask people at the beginning of treatment to go on NOT extra virgin olive oil, as the pureness of the olive oil is too much for a bladder that is so intensely irritated. I have heard over time that some oils are adulterated with soy, and, this IS a concern, as virgin or non-virgin-soy is a BIG pain causer.

One of my patients just sent me the following links on the subject. If you have any input, please share so that people can be certain they are consuming the proper non-virgin (list #1-3) extra virgin (3nd #3 on)
