This is actually a super interesting articel. I have had several patients tell me that they cannot eat raw almonds. They feel sick. I thought at the time that that was because of the heghtened amount of enzymes in teh raw food relative to their condition. But, now I am questioing myself. Perhaps it was not that at all: http://www.naturalnews.com/024132.html

I get a lot of requests for information on the fish that have been found to have the lowest mercury contents and the following list comes from the compnay Nordic Naturals:   I will skip on the ones that are highest or medium, presuming that one would not want to eat those! Anchovies, Calamari, Catfish, Clam, Cod, Crawfish, Flounder*, Haddock, (atlantic*), Hake, Herring, Mackarel, Mullet, Oyster, Perch (ocean), Plaice/Pollack, Salmon**, Sardine

I just wanted to follow up on the post I made about water contaminants the other day. I am not posting these things to make any of you afraid, but rather simply trying to drive home a point. And, the point is, we need to be aware of how our diet and environment are affecting us. That does not mean that there is an actual way to prevent every single toxin from entering our body. I am 100% certain that is an impossible task. But, we can learn from what may be contributing to our lack of well being most and adjust for that.

I am horrified to report that one vitamin tha I had been recommending to some people and using in my own family has turned up positive for lead. I am so upset about this. I am double checking another one I often recommend and think that it continues to be safe--All One, it comes in adult strength and children's strength. I will post when I find out. In any case, here is the article, and if any of you that are on it and I forgot to notify you, please stop immediately and email me.

Read this, it might save your life! The increasing number of prescriptions for high cholesterol medication over the last decade has been disturbing (to me anyway). I get really alarmed when all of the sudden so many people are being prescribed the same drug or knds of drugs for a problem that just seems, for lack of a better word--faddish. I have seen people with before acceptable cholesterol numbers being prescribed cholesterol medication fairly aggressively, and, I am not an MD, but it just has not seemed right. My own father died because of this kind of "preventive care".
