I rec'd an article from a person in England. It was from the English publication WDDTY. I cannot seem to get it to my blog to copy past, but basically it speaks about the contaminants found in US water supply and now in European waters. It further goes on to indicate that the US have been faily complacent about this situation and that England, and Europe in general are taking it quite seriously. Commonly discovered contaminents include benzodiazapenes (BIG problem!), birth control pills, epileptic medications, and even chemotherapeutic drugs.

ICAMA would like to welcome Jeanne Townsend to our ICAMA community as Director of Patient Outreach and Support. As such, she will help to provide support and education to ICAMA patients and their family members. These services will be extended to non-patients as well. It is our hope that as ICAMA continues to grow, we may increase our ability to support our patients and the IC community with knowledge and education to fullfill each person's needs on the road to his or her individual wellness.

Another week has passed and I find myself here contemplating the events that have filled it. I become completely charged as the days pass and interactions occur with people, many of whom I have come to know so well. As I watch each person go through the journey from sickness to wellness, it becomes so overwhelming--in a good way, my heart kind of spills over into my toes from the adrenalin rush. I get so excited when I am on the phone or in front of someone who is coming to realize that pain is no longer their ever present unwelcomed companion.

Anyone who has read my dissertation knows about the connection between NSAIDS and chronic illness, especially IC! NSAIDS create problems with leaky gut and thereby adversely affect health. Because the gut is fundamental to all aspects of our health, the consequence of compromising that area of the body can be many fold and very severe. Here is an interesting article on tylenol and asthma--see the connection? tp://abcnews.go.com/Health/AllergiesNews/story?id=5836380&page=1

is that you often cause another potentially more serious problem. In this article, cancer is the result of trying to treat arthritis. Arthritis is a condition that is differentiated under s syndrome of imbalances in Chinese medicine. And, in other kinds of alternative medicine there are also great ways to treat it. In both of the two cases, a patient can go into complete and indefintie remission by looking at the body and treating the cause. Treating the condition often simply creates what is referred to as more latency.

OK, I thought I posted this last week, but I am looking and I don't see it. If I have missed it, I am sorry to have posted twice. But, this article is really important in correlating emotional disturbances with Gut ecology, which, all of you know by now how much I am in tune with. When I am posting these articles, I am not advocating different practitioner's approaches, but rather the basic philisophical content.

The current state of affairs in medicine unfortunately makes it seem like there has to be a choice between Western and Eastern types of medical treatment. I think this thinking is odd really. Although I practice in profession and in my personal life primarily alternative medicine protocols, I certainly would appreciate an M.D. when I need one. If I was in an accident (which I have been in), if I needed surgery (which I have needed to save my life), I really would not want to see a doctor practicing alternative medicine. There are all kinds of doctors for all kinds of problems.

For some of you, I have included this wonderful herb for tonification of your body to help your immune system in the fight of Interstitial Cystitis. It is only a part, so for those of you not in treatment, please don't take this out of context. And, in many it is completely inappropriate. but, when it works, it WORKS! Please read this article, it is pretty neat! http://www.naturalnews.com/024235.html

In today's world it seems we drop prescription drugs to chase symptoms and more drugs to chase the side effects created by those prescription drugs. This is a common cycle. We can avoid having to take all of these medications by changing our diet and our lifestyle. We can reduce or stop drinking alcohol, stop eating sugar and start eating healthy snacks. We can allow our immune system to work instead of taking antibiotics for every little illness that comes along.
