People often fall into pot holes early in treatment, and sometimes even later in treatment doing things that are commonly known as healthy. But, what is healthy? While there are general things that are indeed healthy, those things may not be healthy for you right now. For example, using extra virgin olive oil is healthy-hands down. However, extra virgin olive oil in a person who is very symptomatic with IC will do nothing but escalate the pain levels. When this happens, this means inflammation is going up. That isn't healthy.

Another thing that is important to note about the movment of energy and Qi Gong, Tai-Qi, meditation, or any other kind of movement work. When you are chronically unwell and you create the movement of energy, all that happens is you circulate toxins all over the body by moving the lymph. So, it makes you feel more unwell or even sick. Deir just wrote me on the last post and what she was experiencing is a good example of this.

When I first went to school, one of my first classes was Qi Gong, an ancient Chinese energy class. My teacher was this very big caucasion man-compared to all of my Asian teachers, he didn't posses the allure of the Chinese medical arts for me. He told us in our first class that our test at the end of the semester would be sitting in a quiet room with him, our hands parallell and each student would have to tell him if he was pulling their energy or pushing it. I remember turning to my now husband and telling him, "oh God, I am failing for sure!".

...of ourselves physically, and I believe spiritually. When I say spiritually, I dont mean, how often we go to church or synogogue-although that is one way a person may derive their spiritual strength. What I mean is the energy of ourselves. That which is us without our bodies. I am very sorry if I am offending anyone who diesn't believe in such a thing. If you don't just don't read this blog or at least ignore this aspect.

...are very often a problem, in that they are a route in which people may detox when trying to get well from being chronically unwell. So, tooth pain or gum pain can come up frequently (somtimes not at all) in treatment.

Often herbs may be used to allow the bacterial and toxins to clear without a person having to get dental intervention or at least enabling the person to be able to avoid serious dental procedures. However, sometimes more intervention is needed.

Oh, I just posted this huge post and hit save and it deleted it. I am going to try and recapture the essence of everything I said with the winds having been blown a little out of my sails:)

It is natural to think that if we do more and more and more it is better. People often ask me if they are not getting acupuncture or body work or some other kind of adjunctive treatment to mine, is it enough? Isn't more needed?

This website is such a source of information, hope, and education--I hope. I am very very happy that I had the opportinuty to create it years ago and that it has grown as a source for everyone. I hope that it will be even moreso with my newest upgrades to come which should be very exciting.

But with exposure and information sometimes can come confusion.
